I hope we can keep Kwame but if another team wants to over pay then we'll need a another player that can play the 5...looking through the FAs that can play 5 that we might get for a reasonable price...who interest you?

Chris Wilcox
Hilton Armstrong
Jason Collins
Troy Murphy...more of a stretch 4
Nazr Mohammed
Joel Przybilla
Kurt Thomas
Melvin Ely
Theo Ratliff
Jamaal Magloire
DJ Mbenga
Alexis Ajinca
Kyrylo Fesenko
Francisco Elson

again...I went UR (no restricted) and what could/should be reasonable (inexpensive) options...

Damn, I really hope we can re-sign Kwame because none of those do anything for me. Maybe Hilton Armstrong since he's still young and could pull a "Kwame" and turn it around. I'd love Nazr because he truly enjoys Charlotte and would be a great bench guy to have because at his age, he won't be able to log too many minutes.

Nazr. But I dont think he would resign with us at a good price.

Kwame wants to be here, so he is out best bet. He knows he'll play a lot as Biyombo will need time to learn playing NBA Center, so Kwame will get starting minutes for the near future and always get a lot of playing time.

Chris Wilcox, Theo Ratliff or dare i say ALEXIS AJINCA lol i wouldnt go there, wayy too embaressing. I dont think we need a young centre here, just someone to do a job for next year and teach Biyombo

Kurt Thomas seems like the best choice on that list, but I doubt he comes here. Nazr and Theo also would be good choices.

Kwame is the number one priority.

after that, Nazr.

Ajinca is not on my list because we'd have to have someone more capable than him to start. But i'm still tantalized by what he could be. wouldn't mind him as the third center behind Kwame and Biyombo.

Anyone keeping up with him? is he still a fouling machine?

Nazr. But I dont think he would resign with us at a good price.

Nazr's first choice is definitely OKC, but after that....I'm not sure we wouldn't be his 2nd choice (he indicated last season his family really enjoys Charlotte and he may consider staying here for less). OKC made the trade for him as insurance incase the Perkins trade with Boston fell through.

He was still at a 1 PF/4.7 min or out after about 1/2 a game...not that impressive...but not as horrific as he had been...

I'd say whoever we can get for the minimum. The sentimental choice would be Nazr, but I wouldn't pay more than the vet min even for him. If we're playing for ping pong balls, which it seems we are, then we certainly don't need to be concerned about talent, plus, since we've invested in BB he needs to be getting the majority of the minutes anyway.

Murphy or Wilcox

I'd still like Biyombo to get some time at Center that way he can start getting use to NBA center play. I'd also like to sign Kwame Brown back to a 2 year deal, no more than that though. Ad for this list, Nazr or Theo would be nice to have to teach Biyombo, but I think both would rather stay with playoff, championship contending teams. Maybe, Maybe, Maybe Chris Wilcox? I'm not really impressed though.

Kwame, Nazr, Wilcox....no one else really sticks for me.

strangely I feel the same way, I think he was improving a tad at year end. if we can rid ourselves of Diop, I would not mind Alexis coming back behind Kwame/Nazr, and Bismack

I hope we resign Kwame or go after Aaron Gray.

Nazr got an extension from the Thunder today. No terms were disclosed, but he's off the market.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP)—Veteran center Nazr Mohammed(notes) is staying with the Oklahoma City Thunder, avoiding free agency with the possibility of an NBA lockout this offseason.

General manager Sam Presti announced Wednesday that Oklahoma City had signed Mohammed to an extension, calling him a “valuable part of our organization both on and off the floor.”

The Thunder didn’t release terms of his new contract.

A 13-year NBA veteran, Mohammed averaged 6.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 24 games after being acquired by the Thunder at the trade deadline. He played mostly as a backup behind starter Kendrick Perkins(notes).

So if Nazr is worth $3.75M next season, how much is Kwame going to draw?

UPDATE: According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports via a league source, Mohammed's extension is worth $3.75 million.

Nazr is signed so...Kwame, Wilcox, or possibly Murphy...slim pickings so I'm really hoping we can keep Kwame at a reasonable price...and why isn't the FO already working on extending him before the lockout?

Nene just opted out today. I'm not familiar with our cap situation, and i guess it might change with the new CBA anyway, but do we have enough to offer him a contract?

At least the FO can take Oden off the list. I dont see anyone paying him over $8.8 mil for 1 year, especially since he likely wont play until Jan. 2012.

Nene opted out of an $11 mil payday year. That surprised me a bit. I know he is looking for a multi year deal, but that is a ton of cash to say no to. Kinda thought he would take the money and walk the next season as a FA.

Yeah, I did too... Unless he's just tired of Denver? I'd love to sign him, but I doubt we're going to even try.
