I get AMC now so I think I will watch the first season to catch up. The first couple episodes I had watched previously were pretty good.

If you're getting AMC now, you must MUST watch Breaking Bad before anything else, my man. I'm a big Walking Dead fan (reading the monthly comic since it came out back in '03), but Breaking Bad is so much better.

Season One was okay if you take out the 4th episode (laaaaaaame), but it needs to ratchet it up like the comic in season two or I can see myself getting bored with it.

You are 10000000% on the money with Breaking Bad. It is one of the best shows on TV since The Wire.

I've heard that as well. And then there's Mad Men. Looks like I have some AMC to watch.

I really liked the first season, but I could never figure something out, so maybe you guys could help me. Why did several people from the group venture into the city (Atlanta, I think) at the beginning of the series? I got why maybe the Asian guy went in, maybe to scout or get supplies, but why did like 3 or 4 of the weakest people go with him that time (Crazy Racist guy, blonde woman, maybe someone else?), and if I remember correctly, without any weapons or vehicles? And they left without any extra supplies, unless you count that dolphin necklace or whatever.

I'm probably missing or forgetting something, someone help me out!

There was a group of them there in the beginning because they were gathering supplies...that's when they met up with Rick. They left Crazy Racist handcuffed on the roof. Rick got a guilt trip about leaving him up there so they went back, plus he wanted to retrieve his big bag of guns. I think this is the trip you're thinking about.
