Red Star Belgrade in Serbia made a huge acquisition when they signed former NBA "star" Adam Morrison. Their other big signing you guessed it, Frank Stallone.
(Sorry, I've been on a big Old SNL streak lately)

He dropped 20 on a Bulgarian team in his debut.
I think a year in different Euro competitions will do wonders for his confidence, though I still don't believe he'll ever play in the NBA again.

He's playing in minor, preseason tournaments right now and I don't think one can find detailed stats, box scores and whatnots (I get info regarding his general performance via the team's official website's recaps). http://www.kkcrvenazvezda.rs/index.php/home/index
Other than that, you can follow him via:

A middling league (but still right behind Spain/Italy/Greece). Their champions (Partizan) were in the Euroleague (the highest-level club competition in Europe) final four two years ago. His club usually winds up 3rd or 4th in the Serbian league.
I'd say between D1 and D2 (closer to D1, though). He's also taking part in the NLB league (consisting of the best regional teams) which would be akin to some of the better conferences (but still not the best ones). That's just IMHO.

My language background is Russian (птица in Russian is "bird" thus my question) - the similarity threw me off. Interesting that петица means "five" in Bulgarian & Serbian (пять in Russian though I take it you might know that). Maybe there's a diminutive in Russian of петица that I never heard before (it seems reasonable it could be diminished that way).
Thanks for the explanation

It, indeed, is a diminutive form (and is normally used to refer to an "entity" (whether animate or inanimate) which bears the number in question as a label (e.g. jersey number)).
пет = five
петица = the number five (the entity being the referent)
петорка = a squad/group of five
English, when contrasted to Slavic languages, is fairly limited in the sense that it hinges on words denoting multiple variations of the 'same' meaning, which makes it (relatively) easy to learn, as long as the context allows one to discern said meaning.

10-07-2011, 11:50 AM
That video clip hardly tells the whole story since he had to suffer incessant elbowing, courtesy of the opposing team, throughout the game, on both ends of the court. That final "jab" was just the last drop. Up to that point he played surprisingly well and displayed high spirit and motivation (something I haven't seen from him in years) treating the fans to 17 pts and 6 rbs on 7/11 shooting performance. I'm not defending his behaviour, but the guy(s) on the other end had it coming.
The altercation, apparently, endeared him to the fans, judging by the support of 7000 fans he received as he was leaving for the locker room. People here value feisty behaviour and fiery disposition both on and off the court.

Could there be a more perfect place for AMMO than Eastern Europe? I bet he winds up on the Serbian Olympic team and scores 35 points to beat the USA for a gold medal to go along with his NBA rings. I could root for that HA!

Nope. Danny Green demolished him... Danny friggin' Green.
They're playing zone defense most of the time in order to compensate for his 'effort', but it never fares well, especially considering the fact that the rest of his team also falters on the defensive end.

That has to play a role in AmMo's overall defense all be it most likely a small one. Still I would like to think that AmMo could become a better defender surrounded by other players with solid defensive skills and a good defensive work ethic with good defensive coaching.
Probably wishful thinking on my part but I have a hard time writing AmMo off. I still have hope in AmMo being one of the best come back stories in the history of pro sports in North America.

I Have two perspectives from the play of both these players in this European Pro "but minor by comparison" to the NBA league. #1. The play of these guys is equal to the league they play in and really does not add up to much in regards to their desire to find a way back to the NBA. 2. These two guys improved play regardless of the fact that it is against weaker competition is good enough to at least merit giving them a chance in a basketball camp next season.
I really have no opinion at this point. It is rather telling though that these guys struggled so badly in the NBA and now they are playing more than admirably in the league they are in. The Adriatic Basketball League is either better than third or fourth rate and May and Morrison are on the fast track back to getting a shot at the NBA or the ABL is way far off from the NBA and neither of these guys are doing enough to warrant a chance to make an NBA squad. It is hard for me to find a middle ground stance in the equation.

I had heard (from Marca) that some Euroleague teams like Caja Laboral and Unicaja, as well as some other Spanish teams are interested in him. I heard Kyle Singler is replacing rudy and putting off heading to the pistons, unless the pistons beat the offer Real Madrid made! Singler's agent said the deal was way to good for singler to pass on, unless of course the Pistons beat it.
