After seeing that, I feel much, much better about some of the decisions I've made in my life.
Also, what if Kobe or LeBron or Carmelo went over there? They already tried lighting each other on fire because of Corey Magette, would they try to flatten each other with steamrollers and start random swordfights if a superstar went over there?

A disturbing amount of love? Nah, this is commonplace for Grecian basketball fanaticism... trust me.

Why can't NBA games be like that?

Why can't NBA games be like that?
Because European and American points of view to the sport are completely opposite to each other. In Europe, especially in Mediterranean countries like Turkey, Greece, Italy and in former Yugoslav states, people love the sports very passionately. However in USA, people look at it as fun rather than a matter of life and death. You people seem to be very surprised to this "welcoming", but this is ordinary type of welcoming even the average players.
The incidents like Pistons-Pacers brawl happen much often here and the bans are much lighter. American rivalries are Lakers-Celtics, Knicks-Heat etc. these are generally based on rivalries on court. However in Europe, rivalries are based between the supporters. See Olympiakos-Panathinaikos, Red Star-Partizan, Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe rivalries...
That's why we will never see NBA games like that.
