How much money and how many years should we offer to Kwame?

I really think Kwame is a guy we should look to hang onto for the next 3-4 years. He'd be a great backup/starting Center to help ease Bismack into the position.

Something like 4 years for $10 mil at a flat $2.5 per year? Easily contract to trade if it ever comes to that, but fair in my opinion for his services.

we have to wait until cap rules, limit, etc are finalized. either way i would like to see a clause that says every time he drops and easy pass for a basket a random fan at the game gets $1000.

Based on the last barganing agreement. 2-2.5 mill a year for 2 years

I could see a team like Houston offering him 4 million per year.

I see a short fast free agent period . A quick offer of 2.5 a year for three years sounds very fair . I see at least three good years playing behind SMACK. 2.5 isn't a bad price for a decent back up center.

YES ** SMACK** will start at the five this season if we have a season.

Thanks SWedd523, Im ready for this lockout to end . Have been reading a lot of good post . But this lockout sucks .
K. Brown and a point is about all i see us signing . I expect free agency to only last about two to four weeks . Practice about another three .
I expect season going by Christmas . Im thinking this lockout is about over.

No doubt for some reason when i was looking at the roster i just added Cunningham in. He has tons of up side and is a nice cheap option behind Maggs . I could see Cunningham as part of the Bobcats long range plans depending on how he preforms this season.
If the owners can end up cutting a player its a slim chance Maggs gets his walking papers. Either him or DIOP.
Im looking for good things from DC.

Wish I had your optimism.
I save my optimism for the development of our players :).

4 years 12-14 million.

Kwame is really underrated & if he can contribute as starting/backup 5 playing 22-30 minutes a game for 3-3.5 million I'd be very happy.

Based on the previous CBA, I'd give Kwame 4 mil/yr for no longer than 3 years. Past that I'd say no.

With just 30 days to sign . Do you guys think its a chance he would take 2 mil a year for three years . What would be your offer for Brown ? Or shuld we offer at all ?.

if we cut (amnesty) someone, won´t be able to bring Bismack this year, we may get somewhat below that 85% needed and about up to 5 spots left. So i would prefer lshorter more generous deal or the other way around. Probably 2 years deal with 3rd being an option (either way). The problem is there could be a team trying to overbid us, forcing our hand.

Oh, come on Keetch. He's worth more than that.

2 years, 5 million with a team option beyond that.

I just can't forget that he's you know; Kwame Brown.

Ok maybe $3.5 for 3 years. I understand that's too low, but I just don't really care.

Ha Teej if we were competing GM's, you'd win Kwame for sure; and I'd be relieved.

With seeing the massive improvement Kwame has shown since he came to town and given the shortened FA period, I think it would be a huge mistake to not resign him.

If we could get him at a number similar to the suggestions that have been talked about earlier in this thread, I would definitely do it. My hope is a front loaded 3 year deal worth about $9 million total. I'm not even sure how much you can front load contracts under the new CBA but if you can, I would love to have Kwame in 3 years from now only being on the books for $2 million or so per season.
