Do you you think MJ would return in 2012-2013 with Silas as the head coach? He is no spring chicken and I don't think any of us envisioned him coaching the Cats more than 2 or 3 years anyway.
What are some of the other coaching/player/contract issues that we would face if we miss the entire season?

great question, I think if our philosophy change maybe a coaching change but an heir would be looked at soon. jmho
several things:
not to beat a dead (albeit imaginary or delusionary) horse, but i wouldn't be surprised if chris paul and/or dwight howard are not factored into any coaching changes or exploratory committees. but, i do agree zig, paul silas may say to jordan "let's use this canceled season to find a replacement, it will help with the transition as all teams will be starting again very rusty".
i think a canceled season would be absolutely great for us regarding the courtship of both paul and howard. again, i know most on here think it falls somewhere between yeah right and no way in hell, but you jordan is going to try. if we can open up a ton of cap space this year by losing doris, najera, cunningham and he can't be traded we could easily land paul with wink wink nod nod that howard would be signed the next year when we lose $21.5 million from mags, diop, matty c and potentially another $7 from not extending the dj's. that would give us a lineup of
cp3/kemba
gerald/kemba
sf?
tyrus/biz
howard/biz
with a carry over lotto pick as high as 10 for this coming year's next draft (absolutely loaded draft) and 2 picks in the following draft 1 for ours and 1 for portlands (ours could easily be another high lotto which means chicago won't get it).
if we could sell cp3 and howard on that idea (be the veteran superstar anchors on the second coming of the thunder) it could happen.

We need a season more than anything else. The young guys need the experience and we'll almost certainly be a bottom 3-5 team so our pick will be better than whatever we'll get in a lockout draft.
If we change coaches, I imagine it'd go from father to son. That seems to be the logical next step
