More than a year since Charles Oakley suffered a sciatic nerve condition in a run-in with Las Vegas security, the former Knicks power forward says he's still in some pain and may not return to the Charlotte Bobcats bench -- if the NBA lockout is resolved.

It says he's also going to have more surgery due to a recurring growth on his arm.

I feel like we are certainly "planning" for the future. Silas is an excellent coach for us short term while we "rebuild" and Stephen Silas is sitting in the wings being groomed to very possibly take over the squad in a year or 2. We haven't committed to Stephen yet so we still have plenty of flexibility but I really like the direction from a coaching standpoint.
