I think he is 3-1 as a starter this season basically running the option ( What's next the wishbone ). Yesterday he won and only completed 2 passes on 8 attempts?!?!?

How long will he be able to survive in the NFL as a QB without fully mastering that new fangled gimmicky thing known as the forward pass?

Terrific person, but him playing QB is like the "Wildcat" formation. 6-8 times a game. Defenses will figure him out in the next couple weeks.

Terrible QB. His upside is Peyton Hillis. He'd be a great second back

great person and role model whether you are a christian or not.

winner and i guy i'd take on my team everytime.

not a good pro quarterback. actually, terrible pro quarterback.

the sooner he decides to play tight end or slot back the better.

Had to wiki the guy, seems to me like he's basically Jimmer Fredette, except plays NFL, doesn't have a hot fiance and is Christian.

honestly, i hope he keeps winning just because i love seeing all the experts proved wrong and having to backpedal each week.

also john fox is psyched that he never has to throw the ball again.

If anything, he's proving the experts right. All they've said is that he's a terrible Quarterback, which he is

What are you talking about??? This guy is great!!! We just have to see how he does against the Muncie Flyers, that should be easy. The REAL test is gonna be against the Canton Bulldogs.

I think Revis is going to have his easiest Sunday ever. With the single digit passes that the Jets secondary will likely see all game, the only danger that Revis Island faces is boredom.

Somehow Tim Tebow does it yet again. BRB... busy Tebowing.

Give him credit. Just like at Florida, the kid just keeps on winning. Dont know how, and he is not a real good QB, but he is a winner. And I guess the bottom line is really all about that isn't it? Winning. I take my hat off to him.

He's a worse version of Jake Delhomme. Not a good quarterback, but shows leadership, is a good guy, and wins games, so everyone thinks he is good.

Dan Lebitard said it best (which is ironic because he never says anything worth repeating): "Tim Tebow is proving everybody right."

And its true, he's proving he's a bad quarterback, but he's also proving that he has the intangibles to win games.

The comment earlier about John Fox is perfect, he doesn't want to throw the ball and with Tebow he doesn't have to. Once defenses figure him out, the Broncos should move him to fullback or tight end because its obvious he can run the ball.

Just very weird. I mean I love Cam and he's on pace to bust all sorts of rookie QB records and I'd never wish to switch QBs with Denver but he's 2-7 and Timmy is 4-1 with much less talent on offense to work with than Cam. Broncos D is much better than the Panthers, which helps but still, it boggles the mind.

Even though he's a bit too in-your-face with it for my tastes, the Christian in me pulls for him to succeed, if for nothing else than to show the power of faith and belief in the face of numbers and science.

I'm glad that Foxy finally gets to have his wish...an offense that can survive without throwing the ball unless absolutely necessary and has a legit excuse for doing so.

However, I don't see this lasting that long. I don't think Denver makes the playoffs, and just like the Wildcat, once coaches have an offseason to review film, Tebow's done.

The team as a whole is playing well. Seems as tho Tebow's enthusiasm and confidence is infectious. Happy for him and the players. But it does not change the fact that he is a below avg QB because of his lack of passing skills. Yet, he is a good football player, and a winner. If the team can just work with him over the next year to make him even an average NFL QB as far as passing skills, he will be a very solid QB for them. And I hope they do, and I wish him the best of luck - unless they are playing the Panthers.

i am really enjoying the fact that him winning pisses off every tv and media "expert" to no end. they can't stomach the fact that there is more to sports than analyzing, film study, mechanics, technique etc. you can't talk about motivation and inspiration and sound any more authoritative than us yahoo's at home on the couch.

Funny story about Tim Tebow:

Friend of mine knows Jake Skelton (backup QB for the Cardinals). During a combine workout all the quarterbacks had on those Dry-Fit T-shirts but Tebow was wearing a sleeveless cut off. Skelton walked over to him and as a joke said, "Hey suns out guns out huh?" and Tebow responded, "Its not like that man, its not like that."

Guy is getting it done, but he needs to take himself less seriously.

Sour grapes. As a man of faith and a firm believer in how not everything can be explained rationally or logically, this has been my favorite part of the Tebow phenomenon (or phenomena...can't remember which is singular or plural): the befuddlement of "experts." The writer says QBs can't control all aspects of a football game. Sure, but leaders can through inspiration, which is where Tebow excells. And making a Romo comparison? Really? He's the anti-Tebow because he chokes when it matters most and puts up meaningless stats, as opposed to Tebow, his WINNING counterpart.

I'll continue to say this:

Tebow is a horrible QB.

But I can't for the life of me figure out how that team continues to win.

I don't think it's a matter of explaining Tebow in terms of logic or phenomena. I think it's putting in context the fact that other things are happening that Tebow has nothing to do with. Marion Barber has a terrible turn over in overtime after Denver loses the toss. Yeah, Tebow may be motivating his guys. I don't know. I just think people are overstating his significance to Denver's streak.

Why do people keep saying Tebow is a good person? Y'all dont know him or what he really thinks. He could hate all gays and colored folk cuz the bible told him to for all you know.

He's a terrible QB. Bronco's won games because the defense kept them game close. Similr to the Bears and Ravens defense a couple years ago. Offense was garbadge defense saved the day. He wont have a good career, He had his little 15 minutes of fame. It will be a totally different story next year

Because he's a Jesus Freak

What about the other 31 teams who have players that pray daily, go to church, read their Bible, raise a good family, etc. Oh, wait, they don't do Focus on the Family ads about abortion or thank Jesus for making them throw the ball 20 yards over their receiver's head.

There's plenty of Jesus freaks in all sports. He's just a freak, that happens to belong to Christianity.

SWedd523

He's the only one I see pushing the Jesus love nonstop. I'm sure there are tons of super religious guys, but they don't go to anywhere near the same public extremes as Tebow

teej
01-05-2012, 07:56 PM
Maybe because they're not so insane as to pray for Jesus to push the Chargers field goal wide right, or such. But I'd say John Kasay is just as religious as Tebow. Or Ricky Proehl was. Maybe Thomas Davis. And that's just Panthers.

I would've bet a large stack of money that he couldn't have done that against the Steelers.

Played a pretty good game. Happy for him and the Broncos. But next week will be tougher. The NE defense is not better than Pittsburgh's, but their offense is, and this game will be in Foxboro. I think the Tebow Train finally comes to a close this weekend.

But he will be back next year. He earned the right to start next year.

That last pass was fantastic.

I think I realized what I think about him today. You know how all men believe that they could go for a play or a quarter and be successful in professional sports? We all have those moments where we make a crazy shot at the Y or make a nice pass in the front yard that maybe we could compete? He's the guy who's actually doing it, but with a ridiculously impressive physical body that keeps him on the team.

That last pass was fantastic.

So we are giving Tebow credit for throwing an easy slant route? I guess Tebow is the reason the other team couldn't tackle and the guy ran for 80yrds after the catch. This Tebow credit is getting ridiculous

CK,I'm not a big supporter of Tebow at all. I think he's overhyped also. However, I'll give credit when credit is due, and that was a nice pass to start an OT against a pretty good football team. The WR didn't have to make any adjustments to catch it, allowing him to keep full speed.

That being said, the season is over, and part of the reason NE's d looked so good is that they hardly played the pass at all, basically telling Tebow they didn't respect his passing or decision making. Tebow's going to have a tougher road next year now that teams have a chance to figure out how to play him and see him as a serious thread to plan for.
