We have basketball back! Can't wait to see Kemba out there killing people like he did all of last season and through the summer leagues this year. We've got a franchise player in him, watch. And Biyombo... I can't wait to see what he does and I have feeling this going to be our first successful draft based on all of the picks we made (in this case both).
I can't wait ladies and gentlemen.

Don't really see much to get excited about here. While it'll be nice to see basketball again, this new deal doesn't appear to help a team like us at all. No hard cap, no restrictions on the MLE, no restrictions on sign and trades. Increased lux tax won't really help because the teams that want to spend will still spend. When the dust settles, the Lakers/Knicks/Heat etc. will continue to get premier FAs and we'll be banished to 6-8 seed purgatory. Can't wait.

I am not in love with the new deal either but I never expected to get half of what our franchise needed anyway. It was never going to happen and have the players accept it.
BUT That doesn't mean im not excited to see this rebuilding season and our 2 new rookies take the court and build the future of this franchise with a better coaching/FO than ever and a owner who wants to "splash" in FA having more $$$ in his pocket.
hear Kemba announced in TWC arena for the first time around Christmas and tell me you wont be slightly excited....

If the season will begin on Dec 25th, does that mean that the 1st home game will be at home against New Orleans on the 26th? and then the Heat at home on the 28th?

I know the deal isn't that much different than what was already in place BUT, if I'm understanding it correctly, an article on the details from espn.com says that:
*sign-and-trade deals won't be available to teams in the luxury tax or over the cap after the first two years
*teams under the cap can use the MLE for around 5 mil, while teams over the cap/paying the luxury tax can only offer around 3 mil
So, that should shift things into our favor long-term more than the old deal. And supposedly, from another article I read last night on RGM, the BRI is still 50/50 which should help us a bit more.
Overall, we're getting more than what we got before to level out the playing field, especially after the first two years of this deal. Secondly, I'm not that concerned anyway, because OKC has shown that if you draft right you can be an elite team and I think we're heading in the right direction starting with these draftees.

I expect the dates to remain the same but the teams to change. I wouldn't assume anything right now though. I heard spitballing talk of 2 games/team in division and every team goes to everyone elses stadium once.

There probably won't be much news until December 9th. It's the first day the Bobcats are allowed to start discussions on a possible buyout.

Go Bobcats!! Hell yeah! Aside from wanting to see Kemba and Bobo, this is the only reason I'm happy there's going to be a season this year: to be assured a good pick, as opposed to what the NBA would've done to us in terms of draft order without a season....that would've been....a mess.

The only way that works is if every team plays every team twice. That's only 58 games, which means you'd still have two more games against each division team (home and away) for a total of 66. That could make sense. Basically: everybody plays twice and division plays 4 four times.

Problem is even with Kemba and Biyombo (if we can even get him here) that excitement is likely to be dead when we have a bad record. Seems to be what we've seen for the last few years here and we're supposed to be the die-hards.
