Brown has numerous suitors coming off his most productive season in eight years. He is believed to have interest in re-signing with the Bobcats as well.

So if I am the Bobcats gm here are the questions I am asking myself:

1. If I resign K Brown what is that going to mean in terms of wins?

2. If we are really bad how much is 25 vs 30 wins worth?

3. By the time we are ready to compete will K Brown be young enough to be a part of that?

My feeling is if he wants to sing for something really reasonable like 5 years 12 million with a team option in the 5th year or one year 3 million that is attractive. Anything more I don't want to commit to and don't really care that much if he is no longer a bobcat.

I'm feeling the same way. We need him, oh lord do we need him, but we cannot put ourselves in a hole by overpaying him. If he wants to get paid and deal with the drama that is Miami or New York that's his call.

25-30 wins!? lol i wish. anyway. Obviously we cant over pay and i dont think we will be stupid enough to. But he was always going to get chased by a number of teams

ESPN Insider says Knicks have cooled on Kwame, so that is one less competitor to worry about.

I think Miami is our biggest competitor for Kwame's sevices.

Agreed though it would be great to have him back but not for too much.

I hope Biyombo is starting by the deadline anyway.

I think I'd be willing to go 4 mil per year for 2 years, team option on #2, or 16 mil over 5 years player option on year 4, team option on #5. Let us not forget that big men command more $$. That said I'd be much happier at 22 mil 5 year for a younger (but not too young) guy like marc gasol (sorry I'm loving his game, he's so much better than Pau in my opinion and griz won bigtime on that trade!)

Gasol is going to end up with a max deal. He'll be making around 14 million a year to start. No FRICKIN way anybody gets him for 4-5 million a year.

DeAndre Jordan got an offer of 5 yr for $40 mil. That's $8 mil/yr. Kwame will cost at least $10mil/yr, and likely more. Ouch!

DeAndre's offer is from the Clippers; some other team can still bid higher.

His market value is higher than Kwame's I would think.

I think Jordan's value is much higher than Kwame's. The most Kwame will get is the MLE somewhere (which is the most I would like to see the Bobcats pay him as well.)

Jordan's numbers are very similar to Kwame's. And given Jordan's youth, I think you are correct that he will command more $ than Kwame. But Kwame will still cost more than the MLE. Just hope no one goes higher on Jordan so that Kwame's will not go higher.

I think Kwame goes for the MLE at the most.

No way any team gives him double figures with the stigma attached to him.

I don't think Deandre Jordan and Kwame are even close as far as contracts. Deandre is 23 and an elite shot blocker with a good amount of upside. Kwame is almost 30, nowhere near the defensive player, and honestly looks to me like a stat compiler for a bad team. There is some talent there but there's a reason he has that stigma to his name. Solid guy who I would like to retain, but I personally don't think I would even go to the MLE equivalent of a contract on him if I were running the Bobcats. Someone may give it to him but I can't see him getting more. Who knows though, there are a lot of dumb moves made every year and a lot of them are for bigs who look to have some potential (we should know because I can think of at least four we have had on the roster).

I would rather go without than keep Kwame if he wants more than 4-5 mill per.

I agree, and I do think he'll get near the MLE eventually. Hopefully just not with us.

I think he is a bargain big for us and we should consider keeping him but no more than the minimum.... :)

7 mil for 2 years is my absolute tops. Anything approaching the MLE and I'm sorry, but Kwame you can be on your way

Thats a area im thinking. Only thing i was thinking was a three year frount loaded deal. Something like a 4,2,2 Most likely the Heat is offering a 2 year 4 mil contract.

Do y'all think Kwame would rather sign with Charlotte or Miami if both teams offered the same money?

In South Beach, these women would be considered 3 or maybe 4 on the 10 point scale.... Now ask your question again.

That's not fair Ziggy. Hitting below the belt. :-)

Looks like the meeting with Kwame went well. Good news.

And other good news - Ziggy will be thrilled to know Richard Jefferson is available for the Bobcats should we feel so inclined. But I have a strong feeling not many Bobcat fans will be thrilled with the idea of Richie joining the Cats. Sorry Ziggy. :-)

Ill wont be sad if Kwame goes to Miami. If anything it gives Bismack the chance to play till he fouls out every game.

See that's the problem with that stereotype. When you think Miami girls you think you're getting this:

When what you're really getting this:

You expect to see something like this:

But you get something more along the lines of this:

With Curry signing with the Heat, I hope that takes them out of the running for Kwame. Really need him back in Charlotte.
Battier signing with the Heat is a big move for Miami. That can prove to be a difference maker for them, especially in the Playoffs. Good move.

Good move sighing Battier, but signing Eddy Curry comes with so many lulz. They are really desperate at the center position aren't they?

This is great news for us though.

This is great news for us though. Bonnell said this is his prefered destination. But money is a factor all so. With Battier and Curry signing all most assures us KB will be in Charlotte . I expect he signs to day . He said Tuesday he would make his desision most likely to day. I expect something in the 3 mil per year range.Between three and four years

Kwame Brown's agent Mark Bartelstein: "We're working on (a deal) with the Bobcats, but nothing is done yet."

Good news! Hope it isn't too much $$$ thought!
