i casually watch college but after looking at the bowl lineups, they pretty much are underwhelming. the automatic slots have got to go. especially for the late bowls. why are boise, tcu and houston playing so early against shitty teams? why are the bcs bowls so bad? it just seems like the purpose of these things should be to put the teams that would foster the highest chances for entertaining games on the field. after all, every game except for the "championship" are meaningless.

A lot of the bowls are done through contracts. For example, the Orange Bowl HAS to be the ACC champ vs Big East champ. That's why you see shitty teams like Clemson and West Virginia getting in. I'm fine with the National Championship. LSU and Bama are the two best teams in the country. I have no clue how the ACC got two teams into BCS bowls. I would like the BCS games to be top 10 instead of AQ, because we'd get in one of them, but oh well.

We do get in the biggest non-BCS (Capital One) and I think we get a good matchup in Nebraska.

Clemson over West Virginia for the Orange (want WVU)
OK State over Stanford for the Fiesta (want OSU)
Wisconsin over Oregon for Rose Bowl (want UW)
Michigan over Va Tech for Sugar Bowl (want Michigan)

Rematch of Alabama/LSU for National Championship? Pass.

Who is more deserving?

It's not that I think Alabama isn't deserving although my post makes it look that way, I just have no interest in watching a rematch of two teams in the same conference. I was rooting for Oklahoma State to go undefeated and play LSU, but they royally screwed themselves against Iowa State.
