I will say he has the 2nd highest player ranking on thr team behind only DJ . BUT we don't have a top 100 ranked player on the team.

In my openion we need to either start him . Or cut him now . Its just to much damn money to let his ass rot on the beanch .

He needs to be starting this year. Diaw is worthless, its time we saw what TT is all about as a night in, night out starter.

Always advocated starting him since we gave him the huge contract.
Need to start him and give him minutes. Otherwise it would just be a waste of an investment.

T2 has some great attributes, with more mins and responsibility I think he could turn that potential we all believed he had into something great for us

I think we start him. Let Diaw come off the bench, hopefully he will be thinking, SHIT i am ina contract year and i am on the bench. i have to start playing when i get a chance or i am not going to get paid! TT defence is really good, obviously shot blocking is his strong point. Esepcially if we play a backourt of Kemba and DJ we will need someone to protect the rim and we wont need Diaws ballhandling as we would basically have 2 pg on the floor. Why not start TT???

Well said. Diaw is a terrible help defense, and people aren't scared at all to drive and face him. TT on the other hand, people think far differently.

Christian Bodin has some numbers on TT that make you go hmmmm :g: right here (http://bobcatsplanet.com/wp/is-tyrus-still-a-diamond-in-the-rough-or-are-we-holding-him-back-for-no-reason)

I am 100% in the camp of starting Tyrus at the 4. I know some guys on this site have even lobbied to possibly use the amnesty clause on Tyrus but I say there has never been a better time than now, this season specifically, to start him and give him as many minutes as he can handle to see what he can do.

At the very least, we need to find out what he is.

Best case, he is a starter or at least top 8 player that we can use in our rebuild.

Worst case is that he isn't able to produce, we lose a lot of games and get a great pick, and then amnesty him to clear the cap space.

I see no negative reason at all for not giving Tyrus every opportunity to produce this season.

You got to. start him this year or go ahead and cut that contract. I would prefer to start him , With DJ White backing him up , Its many reaasons to to trade Doris be for season starts. And the main one is TT. DJ and Kebba isn't going to work . Even if TT started he couldn't log 20 mins a game trying to protect two point guards . Just a thought of playing both points at the same time is reason enough to trade DJ all so. All so TT logs good numbers when starting and playing 30 plus mins. But tends to get in early foul truble being to aggressive. I think if he could play beside a defencive stoper would help his foul trubles big time. SMACK fits that role perfectly. TT could then shot more 12 foot jumpers with out crashing the boards out of control. We in need of a scoring s/f who can play defence. And hit the three. Hendo will help TT big time being the stoper he is on defence. Kemba i think takes pride in guarding his man all so . With the right players be side him TT could be very good.

Start Tyrus, But we still need a big man in the post. Starting Tyrus might end up meaning more Diaw guarding the other teams center. I like Tyrus' energy. He's not a primary, but he's still a good scoring option. We really missed his rim protection last year.

Only 2.4 TOs when playing 30+ mins? As one of the biggest critics of Tyrus out there, that does give me reason to ponder.

Regardless of those numbers, I'm in favor of giving him heavy minutes this year, for the reason other's've given: let's see what the hell we got so much money invested. If he shines, fantastic; if not, let's amnesty.

It'll be interesting if his body can handle the rigours of starting & playing heavy minutes.

I hope so for our sake.

While I don't want to go into the playoffs with this look, I definitely want to see what happens when DJ, Kemba, Henderson, TT, and BB do when they're on the floor together. If nothing else, they should be able to wear the other team out to even the field for Hammer, Mags, Diaw, and Diop.

Start him this year. See what he can do. If he shows progess, perfect! We dont need to use that amnesty clause yet.

If we start TT where does that leave Diaw in terms of trade value??

Should we start Diaw for the first third of the season to showcase him to other teams as a expiring who can contribute to a contender??

Start Ty at the 4, and Diaw at the 5. Problem solved.

If we re-sign Kwame then he will start & I'd prefer Diaw didn't cut into whatever minutes Biyombo is going to get(If he comes over this year)

I'd be all down for starting Diaw until the deadline then trade him for whatever & start Biyombo from that point.
