I've watched a couple other teams scrims live but I'd be literally shocked if ours was streamed. iirc there was someone who asked on the twitter and he said there would be a livechat on bobcats.com and nothing about a stream on nba.com

I got a new camera over the summer so i have a question....can i take a Canon Rebel camera into TWCA? It's like this one: http://www.canonxs.com/canon_xs_files/canon_rebel_k2.jpg

Not that big and I don't really think it'll be a problem taking it. I was able to get into BoA Stadium with it so I would think TWCA would be no issue(BoA is normally stricter). Just want to get some good pics tonight. Anyone ever bring a cam like that to the Arena?

Tricky Ricky Weighs In (http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_nba/2011/12/observations-from-the-scrimmage.html)

Words I heard constantly over the public-address system: “Personal foul, Gana Diop.’’ I suspect it will be the same come the regular season.

As you’d expect, rookie Kemba Walker has such a knack for attacking the rim in transition,. If the ball is in his hands and the break is on, seldom will he come away with less than two trips to the foul line. Also, he’s going to get lots of long rebounds -- he had six boards Saturday. -- On the other hand, Walker had a couple of turnovers that looked classically rookie. This whole learning process is sped up by the truncated preseason, and it’s still apparent he’s learning where and when his teammates want the ball. (And in fairness, he was playing with the reserves versus the starters.)
-- Gerald Henderson (10 points) was determined to improve his shooting range and it shows. In particular, he’s far better at shooting off the dribble in one fluid motion.
-- Among the so-called “spares’’ -- guys trying to make this team without any guarantee -- I’m kind of intrigued by forward Ismail Muhammad (10 points). He’s a leaper and he’s also a savvy basketball player; he drives and passes with authority. I’m not predicting he’ll make the team, but he’s the guy on the outside who most looks like he belongs.

We've been brining in Isma'il for what, the past three seasons? At this point, with depth/injuries, I'm really hoping he sticks. If nothing else, he was always a highlight show at Tech.

Diop.

Diop was absolutely, and utterly TERRIBLE. He needs to be cut and doesn't even deserve to be in the arena.

I'm posting all my thoughts right now on Twitter....follow me @jessediebolt

Went to the scrimmage, liked what I saw from most of the regulars even though I'm used to seeing Boris being the most out of shape looking dude on the floor...tonight, that title belonged to Diop..by a wide(no pun intended) margin

Liked what I saw from Muhammad and Durell Summers.....even to a degree Taylor Griffin....

Yeah, Muhammad looks like he belongs. Henderson made a few nice jumpers, and a 3 which was encouraging. DJ took Kemba to school a couple of times, but Kemba is so quick with the ball. Diaw played well hit a 3 and mixed it up inside. Diop was definitely the most disappointing with my boy calling him "manboobs" all night long, lol. Summers hit a couple of jumpers and Blake's brother was active in a McGuire type of way.

Disappointed Maggette and Ely didn't play, hopefully they both will Monday. Ely must have been a late scratch because he was on the roster provided.

Thanks guys for reports otherwise I would ask whether they even played 5 on 5 or less being so shorthanded. I guess this explains it:

Forward Taylor Griffin played without a number on his jersey. I’m told he needed to switch squads, which left them scrambling for the right uniform.

And this one made my day
It’s hardly a revelation this team will be challenged to score and Saturday didn’t make an argument to the contrary. It took five possessions between the two squads to score. There were a couple of shot-clock violations, which seemed absurd in an exhibition like this. Particularly so when coach Paul Silas is telling them to push the ball every possession possible.:o:facepalm::biggrin:

Went to the scrimmage tonight.... damn. This team just looked bad.

Thoughts:

--I was really excited for the DJ/Kemba matchup, but Kemba has a ways to go before he is truly NBA-ready. I was very disappointed. I did not see anything out of him on the court that really impressed me. He never challenged DJ on defense and, while he had less options to work with, did not create many opportunities while handling the ball. While it was against the reserves, DJ looked pretty good.

--Gana Diop admittedly put on weight over the last year, which is understandable when you ruptured your Achilles and are able to do virtually no cardio, but damn he is so awful and I'm embarrassed that in a week's time we are going to start the season with him as our backup center.

--Tyrus Thomas has been calling out the media lately for mis-representation of the Bobcats. Funny, I didn't see him do anything tonight. I've normally been a loyal supporter of his potential, but after tonight I really have to wonder if hes worth the $33mil we owe him over the next 4 years. In his defense, he did an awesome job of blowing up my Twitter feed the other day (anyone who follows him knows what I'm talking about)

--Ismail Muhammed was the only player on the court who had a "Wow!" factor to watching. Its a bummer when the one player who excites you has virtually no chance to make the team.

--Blake Griffin's brother, Taylor, suited up for the reserves, but was the only player out there who's jersey didn't have a name or number. It was hilarious. With CP3 just going over to the Clippers it was a terrible contrast of how the Griffin brothers' careers have panned out. (And yes, I read Bonnell's blog, and yes, its still funny)

--I'm going on my 5th year as a season ticket holder, and brought 10 other friends with me for the game, all of whom loyally follow the team. It was just hard for any of us to find many positives out there.

I get that its a practice, and we were without Maggette, Ely, (and Reggie and Najera in 2 months) etc., but the season starts NINE days from now. Some teams have already started their preseason and yet tonight we looked terrible.... against the Bobcats!

The fact that Ishmail Muhammed stood out the most should be the biggest indicator to not take anything away from this scrimmage.

Remember, I went to the scrimmage last year when they were in Wilmington, and told everyone here that Dominic McGuire looked pretty good, and would in fact be a rotation player. I told you that undrafted rookie big white center had some skills and could make the team. I said Sherron Collins might be a decent 3rd PG.

And I was never so wrong in my life.

Yeah, I agree with you, it's just a scrimmage. It's really just something to get fans' attention about the season starting. There's not a tremendous amount to be taken from it. I will say that Kemba is lightning-quick with the ball and I do agree with Tricky Ricky...he'll find his way to the free throw line a lot. Other than that (and the slowness that is Gana Diop), there wasn't a lot to glean from this, I believe.

I think we really need to wait till a few preseason and regular season games before we can judge guys like kemba and henderson. Especially kemba since he's only a rookie is just trying to learn the offense and do other things besides just scoring the ball. Once a real game is the case I think you'll see kemba perform better on defense.
