How are you feeling about having UPS as your starting SF?

Honestly, Maggs has been disappointing. Guys takes horrendous shots and way too many of them. For now, I think I'd prefer UPS as my starter.

I'm fine with Maggette being out because it means for shots for the people who are actually good. Derrick Brown is nice for D and decent on the boards. Whenever he dribbles the ball I'm terrified

Insert Tyrus at SF??? oOOOooooo controversial?

Should Maggs be out for a while ... I think UPS is (and has been) good energy off the bench but not always in control. This might be far more my perception than reality. As much as I don't think Matt Carroll's been remotely effective this year and I don't find him a compelling SF, I wonder if we could slide him in to start at the 3 and quickly get UPS in there off the bench. This rather than depending on UPS as a starter and him having two fouls and two turnovers before the jump ball is decided. I think how the rotations are being run w/ Kemba and DJ out together, it would be a way to get Hendo a breathe without using Carroll. Then when Williams is healthy (if Maggs still isn't), this becomes easier to do w/ him spelling Hendo, not Carroll.

start ups and keep the losses coming. as far as i am concerned mags "event horizon" out is a non-issue. he is terrible, then again so is ups but a top 3 pick is my goal for this team.

Guys, we dont suck as bad as you think or want us to suck. We are not playing like a team who is one of the worse 3 in the NBA. We are 2-4 and just a Wade shot with 2 seconds left away from being 3-3. We have some good young talent to build around, and will get another in this year's draft. But it aint gonna be a Top 3 pick.

That's what they said about Seattle a few years ago. Same with OKC. Still got top picks.

Remember the 2nd Miami game as well as the CLE game.

Right now DJ White has a TS% & and eFG% well over .6. Mullens has has a TS% of nearly .6 and a PER of 20.7!

Yet we're still 2-4.

We might not be God awful/D League worthy...but IMO we're still pretty bad.

But say it did look like we might threaten for the 8th seed. Wouldn't you think the FO might make a couple of select trades to keep that from happening? After all their talk I would if I were them. Remember...we traded everyone because we were tired of being a treadmill team.

one of the biggest statistical markers of whether your team is any good is if they get blown out or not. hollinger (no not hollinger, i hate that guy, he is a moron, what the hell is a PER anyway) has run a ton of statistics on this and it consistently shows that bad teams get blown out and good teams don't. that is why margin of victory takes such a strong role in playoff predictor, overall wins etc. yes we played well against the bucks, miami and the knicks but 2 of those three teams are having big problems in the early season. the knicks are a disaster right now and are trying to fold chandler into the mix when he completely destroys the spacing that melo and amare need. the bucks are having huge problems scoring and may be alot worse off than most thought. our losses speak volumes. basically, if we play really really well we have a 50/50 shot of winning and if we don't we have a 100% chance of losing.

i hate having to mention that i am a huge bobcats fan just so people don't think i am a sourpuss but we friggin suck. but we suck in a good way (bj jokes here) because we are young and building vs sucking last year as an old and crumbling team.

This. We won last night, but had to score 118 points to only win by 8. The Knicks are one of the worst defensive teams in the league (Charlotte probably being the worst) and we won simply because we hit more shots than they did.

I like how Chef has put it, we suck in a good way. Regardless of the wins and losses there are times out there when I get really excited. Watching Mullens hit every jumpshot or Biyombo volleyball spike a ball out of bounds is fun to watch, and makes the losing easier to take because these guys are only going to get better.

Honestly we are better when UPS is in the game over Maggette.

Hendo plays much better without Bad Porn also.

I've been a pretty ardent supporter of Brown previously, but I've actually started to sour on him a bit this year. He's a good hustle/effort guy but he still has yet to develop a defined skill set. I don't know that he'll ever be more than a fringe rotation guy and is certainly not an ideal starter, but as others have said, since winning isn't the goal anyway, it wouldn't be horrible. But since winning isn't the goal, why not just go small and shift Henderson to the 3 and play DJ and Kemba in the backcourt. It gets our best players on the floor, albeit out of position, and it would address the concern many have had regarding Kemba's minutes.

He'll never be a 15 PPG scorer - but I definitely could see UPS turning into a solid defensive role player. He has all of the tools to become a lock down defender. Plus his jump shot has improved TREMENDOUSLY. He's been pretty much automatic from the mid range this year

UPS D has been very impressive and he hustles out there too, so i would like to see him start, see what he can give us when given regular minutes. His lengthy arms and good lateral movement is already intriguing on the defensive end. It's when he tries to create off the dribble that scares me. Nothing good comes out of UPS driving to the basket. He could become a legit 3 and D player(isn't that what we wanted out of UPS originally, our own James Posey). Solid defender and spot up 3s, i would really like to see him develop a consistent 3 point shot.

Think everyone plays better without bad porn!

How far is Reggie off returning? I'm ready to see him and dj nail the 3's. He might be a spark off the bench but with dj white and Mullins scoring good off the bench our second unit might start to out score our starters!! Rotation is going t be key when Tyrus and Reggie return.

I agree with what everyone is saying about Bad Porn...but to put it in perspective this quote is from the Bucks' post game thread last night after the Kings' comeback:

GET RID OF JACKSON RIGHT **** NOW. IVE WATCHED REDD, WILLIAMS, SALMONS AND MAGGETTE IN THE PAST 5 YEARS AND THIS IDIOT IS THE WOST PLAYER OF THE BUNCH.

:hysterical:

My God did we get **** up the ass on the Jackson trade. Winner and leader my ass.

 Great find! On-court, I despise watching Mag, but goddam, he helped rid us of Jack and netted us Biz. As far as I'm concerned, his hammy can cause him to miss the rest of the year as his real work here was done on draft day '11!

I know Jack was shit for the team. But i kinda found him entertaining, not always in a good way. He had some pretty amazing nights, for good and bad reasons
