I mean they do got our old pieces Felton & Wallace and there exciting to watch on TV. Portland is just a way more talented Bobcats because of management. I know you can't make a perfect estimate on whos going to be a star sometimes in the draft but looking back all of the bobcats draftees are questionable. The 06 draft was kinda uncontrollable unless you wanted to draft Gay (i honestly thought he was going to be one of the best in that draft, turns out he was one of the best) or Brandon Roy, in 07 Noah was still available instead of wasting it on capt Jack, since we never had a center after okafor. In 08 i never understood why we got Augustin when we had felton, till this day it still feels like management doesnt know where to begin when it comes to PG's, we draft one every year and get rid of the old one, when you could of just built around felton, being PG on the bobcats is the most unstable positon on the team. Is Augustin Next? Henderson in 09 ehhh he's ok but i still feel like he should be a 6th man and hes undersized for a SG(he'll be probably forever be the starter), i rather have a 6'6 SG staring while he comes off the bench as our jamal crawford because Henderson can score no doubt. But hey its amazing seeing Wallace & felton in portland they looking very confident and amazing out there since they finally got the support around them that they needed oh yeah and they just beat LA:biggrin::biggrin:

So let me get this right. Was Kemba Cho's guy or MJ's?
I was against drafting Kemba, but i was pretty excited when we got him because i felt he could be a legitimate 6th man, but from what i'm seeing it seems Kemba will eventually replace DJ as our future PG. If that's the case, we better get a good return for DJ in a trade. We already let Felton walk away for nothing.
Hendo is our future SG. Accept it. What's with the 6'5 hate? 3 of the top 5 scoring SGs in the league are under 6'6, Ray Allen, Wade and Monta. Hendo has shown remarkable improvement since Larry left. Mid range game, 3 point shot is developing, handles have improved, our best man defender - holds Wade down nicely, has a great work ethic. Am i missing something here.

All about Cho, he made things happen in Portland and I'm sure he will make things happen for us just be patient

Not really, lets say we keep our original core together with Felton/JayRich/Crash/Okafor, we're still a middle of the pack team with no franchise player, just calm down and relax, once we get a top 3 pick in the 2012 draft and get our bonafide franchise player everything else will fall into place

Yeah, I watched the second half of the Portland/LA games and saw Crash and Felton and thought the same thing. Considering making them my 2nd team this year.

It was feasible that we could have had basically that same team...maybe parlay that 3rd pick wasted on Ammo into somehow getting LMA...then we'd have had Felton/Crash/LMA/Mek as the base. Just didn't work out that way. Hopefully with Cho we can build an even better team; so far I'm liking the odds.
I am happy for Crash that he got into that situation tho. Same for Felton too, but it remains to be seen if he sticks.
Crash...from their game thread last night:
Gerald Wallace is a bad man. We got such a steal from the Bobcats, it's not even funny.
Indeed. You certainly appreciate his game a lot more when you see it more. I really like how this worked out, although I'll admit I thought him overvalued by Charlotte fans before we got him.
Felton...I'm pretty disappointed in him. I never really noticed it before but it appears his offseason conditioning has become non existent...and with no training camp to speak of it appears it's really hurt him starting off this season. Dude, you're making 7-8 million a year. Put down the frigging donuts...k?

yep.
Funny how no one started this thread on Sunday when Portland lost to the Clippers and Gerald Wallace had 0 points in 30 minutes of play. 0 points in 30 minutes... I can do that. or when he had a total of 26 points over the last 3 games before the Laker game.
Gerald had those kind of nights here in Charlotte occasionally. He also didn't show up at some, and was injured a lot too. Lets not read too much into one televised home game against a team that Gerald and Raymond were notoriously good against.

Actually, I started one last Wednesday about Crash...
Crash in Portland (http://www.bobcatsplanet.com/vb/showthread.php?13106-Crash-in-Portland)
Very very few players can consistently play great games night in/night out...we certainly haven't seen any here during our existence. Crash might have had a a bad game or two in their 1st six games but right now according to BB Reference he's having a career year. 55% FGs, PER of 20.2, .63 TS% & a .58 eFG%.
Just like with us and guys like Hendo/Mullens/White it's a very small sample size.

Yeah thats exactly my point. even in this small sample size. Its the same ol Crash. Good one night, non existent the next night. I have a poster at my house of Gerald doing the exact same dunk against the exact same team that he did last night... only the poster is from Time Warner. He has those games... and we loved him for it. But I still don't think he is a consistent enough player for us to get all sad about losing him as a basketball player.
But we can most certainly get sad about losing a decent player who actually enjoyed being here, and loved the city

Lolz at the 2006 draft.
Bobcats picking 3rd end up with Adam Morrison (3rd) and, eventually, Tyrus Thomas (4th).
Blazers picking 4th end up with LaMarcus Aldridge (2nd) and Brandon Roy (6th).
Oh well, hindsight's a bitch. Go Kemba and Biz!

Donuts aren't the whole problem. I know for a fact Felton spent the lockout in chapel hill, just like every other offseason. It's hard to focus and go unnoticed in a town that considers you a legend. I saw him out at bars a couple times and saw him cruising around in his Maserati even more. He didn't seem to be working all that hard, and was noticeably thicker.

I like Portland. Mostly because of GW and Felton but I also like LMA. I am glad we sent Gerald to a city where he is appreciated and where he gets a lot of national exposure. He looks great and I love watching him play

Honestly, no. I pull for the Blazers because of GW and Raymond but I don't look at them wistfully by any means....well, maybe a little with GW, but really, out FO did GW such a favor by sending him to a solid playoff team while he still has a few productive years left isntead of having him toil here for a poor-to-mediocre team.
I'm happy for the both of them and hope they can win a title but I'm looking forward to what our team is going to look like in a couple years and really excited about that, not about looking to the past.
