Seriously, Indiana is a much improved team and I feel Brian Shaw is a driving force on that. He's great at commanding respect from the vets, he has a great track record of success, and I feel that he's the right voice at the right time. How do you all feel about Brian Shaw as the 2012/2013 Bobcats Head Coach?

I'd definitely like this. I'm shocked he's still an assistant.

how about no, Silas is a better coach then Shaw, theres a reason why LA hired Mike Brown over him and didn't even give him an interivew, plus the Pacers offense has been looking anemic

Not so fast on that assumption. In football, Ron Rivera went through 9 interviews for a head coaching position. He finally got one in Carolina and he looks like the right guy. Just because Shaw hasn't been hired as a head coach doesn't mean he won't be a good head coach.

I thought Stephen Silas was going to take over from his dad?

That's certainly not set in stone. If the Bobcats are smart, they'll give Shaw an interview if they decide not to roll with Paul Silas after this year.

I was always a fan of the Stephen silas take over for next year. I always hear good things about him. From drawing up the final play for the end of games and taking over practice when his pops is not there. Players have even praised him on how good of a coach he is.

Got to agree never ever hear any type of bad press about Stephan Silas and the players seem to love him at GSW so much so that they still miss him according to Reggie Williams

Shaw will have better opportunities, and it's Stephen's job here barring something major derailing that.

They were grooming him in LA to take over when Phil retired. And when Phil retired they went out and got........... Mike Brown? That says a lot about Shaw's coaching chops to me. Not that he can't or won't be a good coach someday. But it does raise cause for concern. Besides, the job is Stephen's job to lose and I haven't seen anything to say he's done that.

yep. in general i like the idea of a royal family in charlotte. Silas coached the Hornets to some success, helped guide the Bobcats, and then his son takes them to the next level. I like the story line... It gives us an identity.

But more importantly than that, I like Stephen Silas. I have seen and heard very little about him... but what I have heard from GSW, I like. His interviews to me, make sense, seems like he has a good basketball brain and has that head coach swagger. I cant think of a better candidate, with a better storyline.

Kobe wanted him in there but the organization wanted to go in a different direction. This was a pretty good article about Shaw from several months ago:

The thing I've heard about Stephen Silas is that he has an amazing basketball brain. Just knows what to do, when to do and how to develop the young kids too.

You can't kick someone's ass into being an NBA player. The guys just suck. We've got maybe 4 actual NBA players at the moment.

- Jim Buss really wanted everyone associated with Phil Jackson gone, which is the reason for the poor handling of Brian Shaw.
