The Bobcats have made Boris Diaw available in a trade, according to beat writer Rick Bonnell.
Diaw's work habits and lethargic play on the floor have him in coach Paul Silas' doghouse. It's also the reason he's unlikely to attract much attention on the trade market. The rebuilding Bobcats won't take back a bad contract either, meaning Diaw will only be attractive to teams interested in his $9 million expiring contract. Bonnell suggests the Suns as a possible landing spot, but their front-court is already jammed. Diaw has come off the bench in two straight games, playing behind the likes of Tyrus Thomas, D.J. White and Derrick Brown.

I'm sure we all knew this, but interesting to see it in writing. Just for fun, what would you want from the Suns?

Bonnell a day late and a dollar short as usual

I'm also convinced he pulled the part about the Suns out of his ass too

He absolutely did. Also, sorry for not checking the trade forum. I should have known this was already covered.

Yet, he tweeted it a day ago thus making him only a dollar short. And working for the paper, that's entirely forgivable.

this is a great sales and marketing piece. the bobcats should just post this on their home page and watch the offers just roll in.

<-- .02Bonnell is much like Broussard in the sense that he is never the first to break anything and is typically waiting for Woj or Spears to breaks news before he reports anything. He's too wrapped up in his own column to put out anything of his own.

I don't see us getting much for him, unless all they wont the expiring. Hopefully we just we can someone to take Diaw and TT from us.

If you can get something valuable for Diaw, great. If not, then there's not a thing in the world wrong with just letting his $9 million salary come off the cap.

We could package picks or other players to the Suns for Channing Frye or Lopez.

Get a first and equal expiring deals. Diaw could be useful somewhere, and any first round pick is worth ditching him. Plus more minutes for Bismack and White.

A first round pick for Boris Diaw? Where do I sign up?

Here is my theory, Nets are trying to clear space and are in talks about Mayo. A three way
Char out Diaw
" in Mayo, a pick and Farmar
Memphis out Mayo
" in Morrow (a replacement for Mayo with a lower price tag)
NJ out Farmar and Morrow
" in Diaw ( cap space in hopes of landing DHoward)
Then trade Dj, Diop and the pick from NJ to Sac Kings for Jason Thompson, Donte Greene and their first round pick.

in what world does diaw equal mayo and a pick and farmar?

A wonderful, magical world :D

I'm at the point now where I'd take a 2nd for Diaw. If we can't get that soon, I say we cut him.

Are we even worried about position? Would a TE be best case along with a 2nd?

What do you guys think of Craig Brackins? In their Fantasy Trade thread on RGM the Sixers threw out the idea of Brackins/Nocioni (exp.) for Boris. We'd save about 1 million (before being prorated).

I don't know the guy from Adam, but if he has any potential it might be worth the gamble. Of course it doesn't alleviate our PF/C glut at all and he seems a lot like Mully (reading DX)...but does that matter? All about assets, right?

NJ was offering a pick to get them some space under the cap to make a run at Howard. DJ would be the one getting the second rd pick to turn into a first as he would give Sac the pg they want. Diaw only brings in assets.

I read two articles today on Diaw on the same website, one saying that no one should take a chance on him and another saying some teams really need to gamble on Diaw. The part of the latter article that really caught my eye was a trade with the Boston Celtics, in this particular scenario we would land either jajuan johnson or avery bradley, what do you guys think about that and in case any of you want to check any of the other ones out heres the link.

Bleacher Report is an awful site and isn't worth the time it takes you to read it.

how about...

CHA sends Diaw + Augustin in exchange for Salmons + Thompson + 2nd round pick

BOBCATS
PG - Walker
SG - Henderson
SF - Maggette
PF - Thompson
C - Mullens
6 - Salmons
7 - TT
8 - Biyombo/DJW

This frees Walker to play his natural position, although Thompson/Mullens/TT/DJW is really no tougher than the current big man rotation. Salmons and DJW for scoring off the bench. DJW and TT will have inconsistant minutes as Biyombo starts to get more throughout the year.

KINGS
PG - Evans
SG - Thornton
SF - Garcia
PF - Hayes
C - Cousins
6 - Augustin
7 - Diaw
8 - Fredette

Including Salmons kills it for me. The dude is owed around 8 per for the next 2 seasons after this one.

Yeah, don't really want Salmons or his contract anywhere near this team

I think SAC still has loads of capspace so we wouldn't have to take Salmons back. I don't get the point even if we do take him out tho. Guess we'd save a couple of bucks off Boris' contract (MJ would probably like that one) and JT/2nd for DJ isn't that far off...but we'd still have to worry about how much he wants to re-up.

Im getting pretty excited about the future of the Bobcats. Guys I want to hold onto:

PG - Kemba Walker
SG - Gerald Henderson
SG/SF - Reggie Williams(seen him play a lot, great shooter)
SF - Derrick Brown(good bench role player)
PF - DJ White
PF/C - Bismack Biyombo
C - Byron Mullens

Dangle Diaw, Maggette, Augustin and Thomas in trade talks. See if anyone bites. Im not interested in any vets with big contracts. Im wanting either picks or young players. We just need to hold onto the 7 guys I listed above, try to get some more draft picks and draft well, and we will be a fun young team to watch. I wouldnt be opposed to seeing if we could trade TT to get rid of his salary and extend DJ. DJ is balling.

Honestly at this point, only guys I would keep is Walker/Hendo/Smack/Mullens.
Rest are traded away at this point.
Yes, I dislike Kemba's shoot-first game, always been vocal about it but he is the future of this team.

And to Salmons...please no >.<
