How would these two fit together?
Certainly there would be length and shot-blocking galore, but would there be enough bulk/weight? Would Biyombo be physically ready to be a full-time center? Davis is, what, 220 pounds?
How about offensively? Do their games(or lack thereof) complement each other?
It'd be a nice problem to have......
It'd be a nice problem to have......
this is the correct answer.

Since they are both still young, they can both add on more muscle.
I love the idea.

Smack has a hook shot.
That's pretty much all EO50 had when he played for us.
Why the hell not? Smack is already 245 pounds of manly muscle, could probs put on another 10-15 pounds without affecting his atheletic ability.

I just posted the idea on the Draft Pick thread. I would love to have Biyombo and Davis on the inside for Charlotte. Both are very young, and already are shot blocking monsters. The offense will come with time. We already saw Biyombo with a double double against Orlando. His confidence will build. Davis has a better offensive game. Together, they would create havoc on other teams for years to come. Love the idea.
If we have the #1 pick, he is my choice. The only alternative is a trade with New Orleans. They have their pick and the unprotected Minny 1st. Depending upon where those 2 picks fall, we might be wise to consider a 2 for 1 swap. I would be very happy with Sulliinger and Kidd-Gilchrist as an exchange for Davis. Keep Biyombo and Mullens at Center, Kidd-Gilchrist as our SF and Jones at PF. That would be nice, also. But I think my preference is to keep Anthony Davis is we have the #1 draft pick.

like the idea of two lotto picks but i am pretty confident in this: you rarely if ever trade the #1 pick for more picks.

But remember, we are the Bobcats, and we have MJ as owner - a penny pinching MJ at that. Just saying...

If we have a chance to draft Anthony Davis we have to take him. the guy is gonna be a great NBA player and if we pair him and Bismack in the frontcourt we'd have a great defensive team.

I know I'm in the minority here, and I know "he said" hes going back to UCONN... but I like Drummond better than Davis. much better size, and just as capable. Would love to get Harrison Barnes this year and Drummond next year if he truly is staying in Conn.

I think if we land Davis we have to build ourselves as a defensive team in the Detroit mold, Kemba/Hendo/?????/Davis/Biyombo my word thats a scary defensive team.

If only there was a chance we could get Davis and MKG.
Kemba/Hendo/MKG/Davis/Biz.

Haha as soon as I saw Sik Infant bump this topic I knew some smart ass was gonna chime in! I deserve it though haha. I still like Drummond, but am fully on the Anthony Davis train.

I see Davis as a 3 to start his NBA career. The best comparison is KG who started at the 3 before later moving to the 4. Where to play these guys really depends on what kind of ball we wanted to play.
If we are going half court then we should get a big center and play BB at the 4 with Davis at the 3. If we want to go run and gun, then we need BB at the 5 and Davis at the 4, and dare I say Mike D, who should be looking for a job right about now.

Just can't see Davis as a 3. I know he's skinny and he moves well for a big, but his game is setting pick-and-pops/pick-and-rolls for the Wings/Guards. Also, he's really into going down low and waiting for the offensive rebound.
Again, he moves well for a BIG, but he's all arms and legs, and I don't think guarding 3's fits his abilities.
Maybe we would need a massive Center next to Davis(the 4). Have Biyombo back up both positions as a good 6th man. You could still play all three bigs 32 minutes a night.

Also, I like Davis closer to the lane on defensive rotations. We need him swatting shots in the paint, not staying close to some sharp-shooting 3 on the wing.

I kind of agree. I once was scared of Davis's slight build and wondered if he was a tweener 3/4. But no longer. He is a 4/5 if anything. He isn't afraid of contact from bigger players and in fact may seek it out. He plays tougher than his build.
I think you have to play Bismack at the 5, and Davis at 4 and let Bismack stay home no matter what playing protector of the rim and allow Davis to guard the quicker of the other teams big, and he can defend any where on the court especially if hes guarding a forward.
On the last play of the first half of Kentucky's first round game, the opposing guard drove the lane and was met by Davis, making the opposing guard dish to the player hanging out at the corner baseline to take the 3pter. Davis still blocked the shot. That settled it for me. He covers so much ground its unbelievable. A Bismack/Davis tandem will be legitimately good on day 1.
