A ray of sunshine in these dark times. What do y'all think of his potential?

Hes going to be a role player.

I see inprovment in his game . But only as role player unless his jumper gets much better .

A pleasant surprise...a 2nd rounder who might actually be worth some small value. Our first ever?

His biggest contribtuion to the organization may wind up being an important piece to a big trade in March that will help in the future. Sad to see him go for a 2nd time but it may be worth it.

no future on our team. 8th or 9th man on a contender maybe.

hes developed his game and is a hard worker. keep him around if the price is right and nobody wants him in a trade

I stand by my post. I did kind of equate them earlier...but so far it looks like Brown is just a little bit more than athleticism.

I like Derrick, but I do think he'll be a trade piece later on. I think he will improve a little more and up his value. At least I hope.

Mainly just a troll post to show how bad it is that a bum like Bernard has been our best second rounder not named Derrick Brown.

Yeah it's amazing just how badly we've done (and not just draft wise) over our short career...esp. considering we had the best situation start up wise of any other team in the league.

Epic...in a very bad way.

Best situation of any other start up team? I think thats highly debatable. I can't think of one good position we've ever been in, in a draft.

as for Derrick Brown, role player and a good one at that.

And I think its a tie between Ryan Hollins and Derrick Brown as to best second rounder.

He might be our best draft pick we ever had, hes the best on the bench, keep him

Wasn't talking about the draft but the position we were in when we were created. We were gifted the 4th overall pick though right off the bat. Too bad we couldn't have snuck in the draft prior...but our history is full of near misses and that was just the first one.

I'm going off memory...but has there ever been an expansion team created by themselves? Usually those teams had to compete for players in the X Draft...but we got to pick all by ourselves.

We also had a quicker time frame to full cap (3 years). Previously I think the quickest was 5 years.

With that "new" start we fumble so badly that we're "rebuilding" in what...8 years?

Epic.

Well there is no doubt that Epic failure has been the result. and you are correct that we had some advantages like being a single expansion.

I was just thinking along the lines more or less of luck never ever falling our way. We've never had a number one pick (orlando has had two since expansion) and to me it just seems like in every draft, we always get the worst possible pick placement.

Always one pick behind the draft superstar it seems. and thats not entirely bad management either, its just how its fallen for us.

I do feel like we got the best of this latest draft though. given where we picked.

Ryan Hollins with the 50th pick was pretty solid

Wasn't Bernard Robinson just a scrub?
Well...considering we did get McInnes for him, he must have been absolutely terrible.

LOL! Imagine your biggest claim to fame in the NBA was that "I was traded for Jeff McInnis".

Does anyone else remember Bernard's ridiculous spin move that he tried to use just about every game.

I do remember that spin move. I believe that after Larry Brown saw it he was so inspired by it that he demanded all his point guards start off plays with for good luck.

to me the biggest asset UPS brings is his offensive rebounding, which is a nice quality. seems like he scores the same number of points whether he gets 10 minutes or 25. does he lead the dancing again?

speaking of old backups, i saw our boy dominic mcguire with a nice pass for a nate robinson 3 last night.
