What are your thoughts on the Bobcats failing to win the lottery?

I am totally sold on the kid. His defense and rebounding is terrific. His offensive game is continuing to improve. And he is just a FR. This kid has it all. If we lose out on him, it would remind me of losing out on Dwight and having to select Emeka.

Im kinda expecting us not to get the #1 pick, the luck on this team is awful

even with the worst record, we still only have a 1 in 4 chance, which isn't that great. i think davis will be the best player and a franchise player, but i also think there will be other really good players available, maybe a franchise guy, maybe an all-star caliber player, and hopefully we get one of those.

Great topic, Chef.

It would be SEVERELY DISAPPOINTING, BUT we could take solace in the following:

Harrison Barnes is a safe bet to be a starter, and fills the need for a bigger, shotmaking Wing in our young core.

Drummond offers NBA center size NOW.

Jared Sullinger could fit nicely with Biyombo if he has at least the minimum length necessary to play his game style in the NBA.

Lamb likely offers a more fluid offensive game than Gerald Henderson. And he could probably be paired with Henderson in the backcourt at times.

All would not be lost, but we had better do our homework if we slip to a 2-5 pick.

I too echo the pessimistic viewpoint that we will not get the number one pick. Until something good happens to us in the draft, I think its fair to believe its impossible.

Like Vet pick says. It would be terrible to miss out on the best player available... but with a top 4 pick guarenteed and Barnes/Sullinger/Drummond out there... we won't be totally defeated. Couple that with how far we are from competing and not getting the number one pick isn't as devastating as it could be. Theres always next years lottery....sigh.

Nope. It would be catastrophic not to get Anthony Davis. I would be willing to see BCP sacrifice Ziggy's left nut in order to assure us of the #1 pick. I think most here, with the exception of Ziggy, would likely agree. Ziggy, you have to take one for the team!

I Think if we got Davis it would be huge, we could finally have the cornerstone we need. I am sold on this kid personally. However not to get him being called a "catastrophy" is too much. Within the top 4 picks there are some very good young players there, i expect them to be better than just starters. I am also taking the approach that we won't get the number 1 pick, what is the point in getting your hopes up when it's a 1 in 4 chance?

Not the left one... That one is my favorite.

There are actually some other players besides Davis that could be a better fit for us. Sullinger has a unique skill in terms of being able to play with his back to the basket. Drummond if he comes out has plenty of upside. Kidd-Gilchrist and Thomas Robinson are also really good. Barnes can score the ball. All those guys besides Drummond could be more NBA ready in terms of offense then Davis. Just have to go with the best player we can select.

I would rather have Davis but there is no reason to really get worried about it.
