So we have to take off immediately. from the next season we need to stop making a fool like today. So garbage go out.
For me, the players wich should continue are:
Kemba
Biyombo
Reggie
Brown
White
Hendo
____
Augustin trade before the 15.
Diop, Thomas, Carroll, Maggette out. Amnesty, trade or anyway. The garbage out.
Diaw, Higgins and Najera are expirings.
subtract everyone except biz and kemba from that list. if the right trade presents itself hendo gone. white = trade before FA. brown, reggie = bye bye.

This is an unorthodox approach, but has been used a few times. This franchise has selected guards first, rather than a center/forward, to build around. This should be effective. In the short-term, an undeveloped guard isn't capable of winning games. Especially a point-guard that shoots, rather than passing, and has no one to pass to when he gets in trouble. Thats what I see with Walker (and Augustin I believe, but I have missed a few games as of late). This will cause a team to lose a LOT of games. In turn, good draft picks are available and the guards don't demand hikes in pay, because they haven't earned it. With good draft choices and a budget, there is the possibility of putting together a team. The right forwards will be essential to the success of this franchise now. They already have the guards in place. Don't trade those guards away for mediocre forwards to win a few games. Hold on and wait for some good forwards and win a lot of games. I think this is what MJ had in mind when he compaired this team to Chicago.

Can someone tell me what the hell happened tonight??? why is kemba not playing more than dj??? And diop starts? I'm getting annoyed with Silas, I'm pretty sure we could all do a better job than him!
Only reason I can see is that he has been told to tank on purpose! It's a joke we are only scoring 70+ points! I can't wait to fast forward to draft day.
Tanking is actually quite depressing

You must not hold losing against silas, then demand that he start dj, kemba, hendo, tyrus and bsmack. Play em all 36 minutes each. Develop em, or display em and get their stats up to trade em. But it makes no sense not to play them all a bunch. Youre losing anyway.

Maybe they r showcasing some of our 'tradable' players more to raise their value??
It woul suck if they were because it halts the development of our future core

The only players I truly hope that we keep are Henderson and Biyombo.
I am not particularly attached to Kemba or DJ. To me they are nothing special in the grand scheme of NBA players and we should be very open to trading them.
Kemba had 3 years as a guard to learn how to shoot in college. His 1.06 total points per field goal attempt is poor efficiency. Even DJ did much much better than that as a rookie. I DO think Kemba can be a solid distributor though. He has shown that he can tweak his game in that regard. And I love his quickness.

He's already starting to get teammates more involved. Shows in his playstyle and stats.
Before he was extremely selfish and was frustrating as hell to watch (for someone like me).
Not so much now as I can see he's trying to make an effort to score, but also to look for the extra pass.

Kemba is 12 times better than DJ was at this point. Its not even close.

We don't have anything I'd consider a 'core'. Besides Bismark nobody is something that isn't an interchangeable part. Maybe Mullens too just because of his size. DJ, Henderson, and Kemba are going to be ok players, maybe starter caliber, but it is easy to find a good guard. Reggie Williams/Derrick Brown/DJ White are solid bench players on any team but bench players dont make up a core. I think we need to see what Tyrus does next year before we pass judgement on him, but with his contract it is doubtful he'd be going anywhere anyway, I still am holding out hope. And everyone else isn't even worth mentioning.

Not considering salary cap implications, but just what I'd want to see from personnel standpoint...
First, anyone on this team over 25 should be out:
E. Najera 35
C. Maggette 32
M. Carroll 31
D. Diop 30
B. Diaw 29
Left:
T. Thomas 25
D. White 25
R. Williams 25
D. Augustin 24
D. Brown 24
G. Henderson 24
B. Mullens 23
C. Higgins 22
K. Walker 21
B. Biyombo 19
Adding two rookies in the draft will give us 12 players under 25. Higgins should be straight up cut, I'm leaning for Thomas to be moved or amnestied, and Augustin and Kemba can't split time going forward, and so since we're obviously going forward with Kemba, DJ needs to be moved for a pick.
I'm fine with leaving everyone else on the roster for the time being to figure out what our best assets are and how to move them. Obviously, we shouldn't go into the season with no veterans, so we should pick up an old veteran point guard, wing, and post player - and these vets should be players who have at least accomplished something in the league during their career so that they can actually teach our young guys how to play. Then find a young free agent and shooter, and maybe give a shot to a d-league player or two to see if there are any diamonds in the rough.
Develop the young players, identify the best of them, continue to draft well, make a smart trade or two, and in a couple years, we'll have a promising, talented young core, and can hopefully mix a high level free agent to lead or complement our group.
1st round pick: Anthony Davis, Harrison Barnes, Thomas Robinson, or Andre Drummond
2nd round pick: Draymond Green or Tyshawn Taylor
Vets:
Antawn Jamison 35
Andre Miller 35
Chauncey Billups 35
Ben Wallace 38 (never to play, but teach Biz and hopefully Davis how to play d)
Danny Green 24
Steve Novak 28
Jordan Hill 24
My dream lineup going into next year would look something like this:
PG: K. Walker/ A. Miller/ T. Taylor
SG: G. Henderson/ R. Williams/ S. Novak
SF: A. Jamison/ D. Brown/ D. Green
PF: A. Davis/ D. White/ J. Hill
C: B. Biyombo/ B. Mullens/ B. Wallace
