I know what you are all thinking but he's been deemed eligible by the NBA to participate for Team GB at the olympics. Is this the first ever Bobcat to play at the olympics?

Nope. Okafor at '04 Athens Olympics, the first one popped in my mind. There should be others, for example Walter Herrmann in '04 Olympics as well.

I never knew so many Bobcats had made the olympics, bit odd for Emeka to make it in his rookie year. And I really liked Walter Hermann shame we traded him to motown. And thanks for those links at the bottom of your post i've bookmarked two of them.

£29.50 and there behind the basket nosebleeds, good seats set you back 100-210 and they're not even court side

I'm guessing the teams gonna look something like this (insert name of point guard possible Wolfpackboat) Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, Pops Mensah Bonsu, Byron Mullens possibly make it out of the groups if they're lucky and don't draw a team like france, Spain or maybe even Brazil (if Barbossa plays)

Renking will probably start the point. Yes he is a 36 year old American who married a British women, but we really are that desperate! I reckon Freeland will play. Mullens play a 6th man role as he has only just joined the squad, they can't not play Freeland, along with Deng he IS British Basketball. You know that Azubuike who used to play for GSW has British Heritage as well. But I don't know where he has gone, got injured and dropped out the league I think. What about Ryan Richards? That guy who got drafted by the spurs in 2012 I think in the 2nd round. Big 7 ft center with athletic ability. Playing for Lugon Tigers in the Swiss league. Think he might be a bit of a Alexis Ajinca type player. All Potential, still I am surprised he has not got called up.

OH CRAP I REMEMBER ANDREW LAWRENCE THANK GOD FOR ESPN IN BETWEEN MY EXAMS..... he can shoot the 3 has decent slashing ability from what I remember although he was in foul trouble the match I watched. He's from London but I have no idea about whether he's in the Team GB set up + Ryan Richards was at the olympic test event. And Plowman has Joel Freeland made it to the NBA yet?

No, I wouldn't surprised if Mullens came off the Bench though. I am sure our reserves struggle to score so he would help that department, plus you might not want to ruin the team chemistry of the starters. But that might already be happening if Ben Gordon is starting the 2.

Also we have... Devon Van Oostrum. Yes, it's really him! But sreiously this kid is on the GB roster, is only 18 or 19 and is ranked 5th on the 1993 international class on draft express: http://www.google.co.uk/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=draft+express+93+internationals&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&channel=suggest

He could actually be a talent

I've never seen van oostrum play but seeing as he's ranked just after karasev whom I've heard is good I'd expect him to be alright, although he's not any 2013 mock drafts. I'd actually start Mullens and let Ben Gordon run with the 2nd team, that way he could stop ball movement and tbh it wouldn't really have that much of a negative effect seeing as i'm not expecting Team GB's second string to be very good.

Hey, can you stop knocking our "stars" :/

They do it in Australia too.
Every player is either a 'star' or a 'gun.'
I.e Patty Mills, the star PG or w.e

It's really irritating for me to read about some scrub being called a star/overhyped by our crapass media.

Speaking of Mullens, he's finally starting to become a nice shot-blocking player. Has the length and athleticism for it, seems to have his timings slightly better too.

That's because Mullens IS a star........ by British standards and Mills IS a star.... by Aussie standards.

We Americans are just spoiled on basketball talent

Hell no.
If they called Bogut a star I would understand.

Even most of the worst NBA players are still in the top 500 players in the WORLD.

So you could make the argument that anyone in the NBA is a star to some degree.
