View Full Version : Nothing is happening

So i look at this in two ways.

Good: We are not making any panic moves to make us better in the short term. We have not made any moves which have taken on salary or given up anything of value we have (very little anyway)

Bad: We have not made any clever little "Cho" moves as i would call them eg Mullens for a 2nd rounder. I thought we might have picked up a young potential based player or maybe a draft pick somewhere.

I am sure we are speaking to teams every day but so far i would rate our FO as a 6.5 not because they have done anything good since the season began, but because we are usually dumb enough to do some stupid loaded salary trade eg Diop. How would you rate our FO this season?

You give them a 6.5, not because they've actually done something wrong, but because you EXPECT them to do something bad.

That's like spanking your puppy before you leave because you expect him to have chewed something up while you're gone.

Thats because in the past the puppy has done many many thing wrong as it is young and inexperienced. Even thought he didn't do anything correct, not doing anything wrong is a step in the right direction. Once the puppy has learned from it's mistakes it can begin to make better decisions. (Loving the puppy metaphor here)

Yeah but that still doesn't mean you preemptively spank him. You don't spank the puppy until you catch him in the act of doing something wrong

I never said I had preemtively spanked him. I am just saying well done for not messing up when there is a lot of pressure from other fans

I'm guessing almost every player on our roster has an extremely low (or at least lower than it could other wise be) selling value right now. If they could move somebody and get a 3rd point guard, a new young player with more upside than what we already have, or a draft pick I'd be all for it. But we dont need anything else. We can't get Dwight or Derron so why trade for an ok piece when the season is already lost?

I don't know what Cho is supposed to do with a bunch of sucky, overpaid players that nobody wants. We've already given up one future #1 pick and are getting nothing in return. What, exactly, should he be doing if everybody he calls hangs up on him?

Having said all of that, I expect something to happen by the deadline but there are ZERO trades happening right now because everybody is going to wait until the last week or so to get the ball rolling. Once that happens maybe Cho will get lucky and move some of this dead weight for something of value. Even if he doesn't, however, it really isn't his fault nobody wants his predecessors POS players.

We may be looking at this (or maybe even next) offseason before we make any serious moves with regards to improving this team. We are reaping what we have sown with all the bad, shortsighted moves we made during the previous 3-4 seasons.

There are alot of players that are being shopped that could help us short and long term under small contracts. Courtntey Lee, Budinger, Hickson are just a few. I hope Cho strikes gold

Unless that puppy is a Clemson Tiger fan. Then, he gets spanked and neutered in the same day.

latest rumors

Charlotte team officials vow not to make any deals before the March 15 NBA trade deadline that would jeopardize their rebuilding plans. But it wouldn’t be a surprise if Boris Diaw, who will be a free agent this summer, is traded. His relationship continues to sour with Silas, including Sunday night’s effort in which Diaw took four shots. Silas has clashed with Diaw much of the year about shooting more – Diaw’s is one of the team’s better shooter – but Diaw has shot 10 or more times in 13 games this season. “I would like for him to take more shots,” Silas said. “When you don’t shoot and you pass it to someone else, it’s normally a worse shot than you had. So when you’re open, it’s my philosophy that you shoot shots. Prior to tonight, he was really shooting the ball. He was scoring and whatnot. For some reason, he decided not to shoot the ball tonight.”… Gaston Gazette

The Bobcats would love to shed their long-term contracts especially those belonging to Corey Maggette and Tyrus Thomas. Their best trade chips might be the ending contract of Boris Diaw. Cats’ sources say there have been calls regarding Diaw.

The Bobcats are in total rebuild mode, so there may not be an untouchable player on the roster. However if you want one of the Bobcats younger guys like say a DJ Augustin, you may have to be willing to take on luggage to get him.

It is possible the Bobcats are active in the run up to the trade deadline, but don’t expect anything too crazy unless someone wants to part with unprotected draft picks.
