So, I completely missed this game ( had some family stuff that I had to do ). I get in and jump online to check the score and Deron Williams bent over the Bobcats to the tune of 57 points??!?!?
Someone please walk me through tonight's game. There has to be a story behind it.

21 points at the line. He pretty much had his way with us in the second half.

Long story short....... We played our starters against Detroits bench during the last game of season 1, we won that meaningless game and tied the Hornets record, we lost a coin flip and picked 5th during the draft. We refused to trade picks 5 & 13 to move up in the draft...... We watch 2 potential Hall of Fame PG's get drafted 3rd and 4th... We choose Felton..... Many years later we still suck and one of the PGs we could have drafted smashed our 2 subsequent lottery PGs for 57 points.

I want wait to resign one of those lottery PG's for way more than he is worth. Tiny, shoot first, PG"s who can't shoot or guard anybody should make AT LEAST 7mil a year. At least that's what we keep getting told around here. Of course, since we keep drafting the same kind of player maybe that's what we value.

Williams was having one of those nights where it didn't matter who was guarding him. He was just fire. He had the refs help a few times, but he was making all kinds of crazy shots.
I don't remember the last professional game I saw where one guy distanced himself so far from everyone else in the game. Unbelievable.
Great game! Even with a nearly empty arena for the last 37 seconds.

Agreed...pretty much everything he threw up there went in. He was a man amongst boys and rarely does that happen on the professional level. They tried Henderson on him and that made him work a little harder, but it really just prolonged the inevitable. I mean, the guy hit a fadeaway 28-footer to beat the shot clock (and then Byron had to compound it by fouling him) so he was just in a another world, not matter who was checking him.
Despite all that, the Bobcats were in it until the last seconds. It was really entertaining and a great effort by the 'Cats.

We were playing trash najera and garb mullins who were fouling guys on at the perimeter giving up 4 point plays. diaw was throwin up lobs like we were dwade and lebron, thomas was shooting shots out of his league, oh yeah and dwill dropped 57 had a career night, nobody on the team could guard him, our guards are too undersized

For some reason, this post made me laugh hysterically.

"I'm used to getting double-teamed on pick-and-roll," Williams said. "Refreshing not to."

Enjoy it now NJ. Lopez was on crutches at the end of the game. If its serious, that might be a final blow to them getting Dwight in a trade next week. Orlando is already rumored to be seriously leaning towards keeping everything as is & making a run at the championship. If they did decide to move him, they would at least want enough back in talent to keep a top 8 position & make a playoff appearance. Lopez out (& being a restricted free agent in July) would be a worthless asset to acquire short term.

Williams did shoot a high percentage from the field last night (and perfect from the line), but the officiating in last night's game was atrocious. The Cats had a healthy lead but I felt the refs really let them back in it. Even then, DWill finished with 57 and the Bobcats still had a chance to tie the game with the last shot...crazy.

I try not to linger on officiating, but there some seriously horrible calls.

Deron Williams is a man on a mission and it really does not matter who he is playing. He is not happy with the Nets and I am sure he is hoping to score big in free agency and be like a couple of his budies and wind up with a team that has a real chance to compete for a title. I hope he finds that team. The Nets have a lot or work to do to convince Deron they are the right fit for his talents. So far I think he relishes the situation he is in. It will be interesting to see where he winds up. I love Ty Lawson but I would love to have Deron in Denver with the Nuggets as the starter with Lawson spelling him for solid minutes. If you are all confused by that my second team in the NBA is the Denver Nuggets.

Good teams who establish themselves early and continue to do so get the calls in their favor. As long as the Bobcats continue to scrape the bottom of the barrel they will not get help from the officials when they do comptete and play well. Of coarse the Nets are far from world beaters but they do have Deron Williams. Star power helps some teams as well.

While I do cheer for the Cats when they aren't playing Indy, I still feel I'm able to stay fairly objective when it comes to observing an NBA game. I agree with you - I think the officiating was horribly one sided last night (especially in the 3rd).

This wasn't two guys collide and the star gets the call. This was things like Gerald Henderson being three feet from Williams when he gets a call. After several terrible calls, they showed that call on the jumbotron and the place went crazy. I heard fans talking about how they were going to get "22" (the ref) out in the parking lot. It was nuts.

Elite Player >>>>> Our D-League roster impersonating a NBA team.

I wonder what happens when the league becomes 6 elite teams and the rest NBADL roster fill ins? The players should NEVER EVER have the final say in where they play. They should be happy for the damn check.
