He is still extremely raw and needs lots of polishing before we get what we saw tonight on a consistent basis BUT he will get to that point. So much upside, he should be the only piece we have that is considered 'untouchable'.

He's been my man crush when he first popped out of nowhere pre-draft. I was happy as hell when we drafted. Knew he was going to suck offensively for a bit, but the upside is huuuuge. And then he goes out and plays like that against Dwight Howard of all people?!?! fdsgfshvysvjhskhvkjsfhkghsfkgjhghfhgks I'm excited to say the least.

He is seriously the only untouchable player on the roster. He will put up 18p/14r/4b on average in time

He is the anti-Howard... was totally in Dwight's head tonight.

Biyombo was awesome tonight. Kept Dwight under control and impacted the game inside. We have been really really bad this season, but tonight showed a glimpse of whats to come in the future. Kemba played well, Gerald hit some clutch shots and Mullens even played well.

Its a coincidence we win the first game Diaw doesnt play...lol

Back to Biyombo - Hes the reason we need to cheer these guys on. We pair him with Anthony Davis down low and add some others - we will be back folks.

The best part about Bismack is..he get's it, he loves the opportunity he has and knows he needs to work more to improve. Here was his quote after the game:

"Anything is possible when you work hard"

How can anyone not love this guy? I'm thrilled beyond belief he's here and can't wait to see him reach his full potential here. He did an outstanding job on Howard and really handled him. He wasn't going to back down from Howard and I think that attitude was contagious. I love watching him play and learn. Thank goodness we hired Cho and he brought Biyombo here.

Dwight Howard really doesn't work very hard and Biyombo punished him for it. DNB I was thinking the same thing; signature game.

7 blocks including one on a flat-footed Howard hook. Impacted nearly every play underneath, even when the announcers weren't calling it out.

One sweet turn-around jumper in the 2nd Q that was pure joy.

Standing at the foul line grinning; if not laughing at the Magic for playing hack-a-Smack on him. I kept thinking how great it was that they were challenging his free-throw shooting; giving him the in-game opportunity to put in some work on that aspect of his game.

Didn't catch the game but I'm loving what I'm hearing and the highlights I saw. We really got lucky with this guy.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the box score late last night. Impossible to not love Biyombo.

I think I saw Biyombo do the "Dream Shake" with a fadeaway baseline jumper?!?!? Didn't think I'd see that this season....AWESOME!! I think this kid with be a multiple time defensive player of the year sooner than later and average between 15-18 ppg

This was the 1st game I attended this year and I was obviously pretty pumped with the result. What didn't show up in the box score was Biz's battling and/or tipping out rebounds from Dwight. That was probably just as important as his other boards.

What I thought was interesting with the bonding he and Kemba seem to have done. They looked downright chummy out there. I hope that's actually meaningful chemistry and not just a one night deal.

someone on the coaching staff needs to go waterboy on biyombo and just convince him he's playing dwight howard every game.

Smack does a LOT of little things. Setting screens for instance; no one ever credits the guy setting the screens, but without that usually there's no points or assists. Tipping the ball when he can't get the board...blocking out! I didn't pay much attention to Mully...but could it be the reason he got all those boards at least in part was because Smack was battling Dwight for position?

I freaking love this guy! We've never had a big like him before and he's ours...all ours!

His defensive potential is through the roof! With those long arms he can be a monster in the passing lanes too. He's the real deal

I said this out loud about 40 times last night. He's ours!

Everytime he battled Dwight I got more and more excited. He gave up almost nothing. In the ever so understated yet perfect Bismackian analysis of this matchup.... "He's strong. I'm strong too."

The work Biz is putting in is starting to pay off. He struggled setting good screens earlier in the year..getting called for multiple "moving" screens. Last night I don't think he had one and you could tell he was holding it for a split second longer. Also, the timing on his rebounds seems to be improving. Earlier in the year he seemed timid and getting rebounds off pure length, but last night he started to get better position and time his jumps better.

Overall, his impact on the game is huge on the defensive end..the wings can pressure the ball more knowing they have Biz to protext the rim. Offensively he made tons of hustle plays...

Anyway, nothing that hasn't been already said, just officially announcing my man crush.

What can Toocool and i tell ya . A month ago you guys thought we was crazy calling for calling for a regular 12 and 10 from the kid . With about 5 blocks for good measure . Im taking the kid another step , Hes going to end up a all star caliber player . Hes doing things most of yo don't see . Best on the team all ready , Setting screans, Boxing out [ Howard last, helped Mully get 13 boards] Tiping the ball out . Most good centers don't do that til thair 3rd year. Controling the paint . Notice how few times the guards drove into the paint at will. v/s when hes out of the game. The fake spin fade away GREAT INPROVEMENT . Hakeem all day long like i compared him to on another thread , I started another thread about where would draft SMACK this year if he was coming into the NBA . I STILL SAY HES A NO#1 Pick with all his upside . He just turned 19 . Place Davis next to him at P/F Has the making of the best frunt line in years. Cho will have to address scoring ?? Is thair any doubt about him guarding large centers now??

SMACK is the real deal. Hes worth the price of addmission.

The Mully / Biz combo worked pretty good!

This could really be that Ben Wallace/ late career 'Sheed Wallace combo all over again. Even if Mullins isn't a serious presence underneath, he can still get boards and block shots while stretching the other team's D. Very excited about a future with these guys.

OH! And just want to agree with all of the "little things" comments people are posting. It seemed like he was significant on every play while he was on the court in the second half. Close to the end, somebody took a shot against him that wasn't even close to the rim. You could tell BB was in his head.

Just watched the highlights from Bismack's Orlando performance. He needs to be working very hard on his free throws because if he cant hit better than 50%, we are gonna see a lot of Hack-A-Smack.

His form on the line doesn't look all that bad, so I'm hoping with some coaching adjustments and some practice he can get better.

If the worst thing he needs to work on is his free throws, I'll buy a BB g-string to match my t-shirt.

I've clearly had a man crush on Biyombo for a while now and I have had very high expectactions of him since the beginning but even I can't believe how good this kid could end up being. Every time I think I have a feel for his ceiling, he does something else I haven't seen before and I have to raise the ceiling. The bottom line is that I don'teven know if there is a ceiling for this kid. Did I mention the man crush?

As far as FT shooting goes, I agree that his form does look decent. It isn't choppy or forced like many bigs that can't shoot FT's. I personally think that he can be a 70%+ FT shooter within a short amount of time and that will be enough to keep the hack-a-smack from being effective.

He has a very high arc.
For those who do not understand this statement, I will explain.

The Basketball, when shot higher has a higher percentage of going in (and of swishing). Due to having a higher angle on the shot, less chance of it hitting a rim and going out. When shooting flatter, you need to be far more accurate. It's easier to make a tiny mistake shooting a high arc and scoring than it is to shoot using a flat arc with a tiny mistake.

Observe my awesome diagram.

Okay, you know what. Not worth the effort.
Just take my word as law. Higher arc = better.
