Any chance we use our trade exception and they would be willing to trade him for Boris Diaw straight up? It works, but I'm guessing they'll want picks.

To me, he's a young guy with tons of talent and would be a building block for the future if we somehow pulled it off. If we aren't going to give DJ an extension, I wonder if that comes into play as well.

ummm no. he will be worth way more than diaw and portland's pick. diaw and our pick #1 protected would probably get it done.
