The Cavs have also been linked to Charlotte in a deal that would also supposedly involve Jamison, but not return a draft pick. “So it sounds like a lot of pure speculation, nothing more,” said a Western Conference GM.

The possibility also exists that the Cavs could let Jamison’s contract expire, then re-sign him to a smaller free-agent deal in the summer. And why not? Contrary to popular belief, veterans don’t hinder the rebuilding process. And the Cavs will tell you that Jamison has actually helped it this year.

So the blurb is saying we would acquire Jamison and the Cavs wouldn't get a pick in return?

If we could send out some shitty salary (Diaw/TT/Carroll/Diop), if any of those pieces are going out, LET'S DO IT.

Jamison and Sessions for Diaw and Maggette.

Maggs is an expiring next year so hell have value and will be able to replace Jamison's production. Diaw is an expiring this year and still saves them a chunk of change. He can also be really valuable if he improves with a change of scenery.

Jamison comes home and replaces Maggs. Helps spread the floor and provides some versatility. Sessions comes home as well and provides some nice depth at PG as a capable backup and allows us to cut Higgins and/or trade DJ so we can see what Kemba has

I like it. A lot actually.

PD yeah...pretty sure it was from a Cav's perspective in regards to the pick mention.

I would do this for sure.

Well if we did this DJA would be gone by the trade deadline almost for sure. Ramon would be a bigger PG which would be useful, but i heard he was terrible defensivley which is one reason that LA decided not to trade for him. I am sure we could get Antwan in the offseason, so theres no need to rush to get him. However, would we have different contract opportunities if he was already a bobcats player when he hits FA? Diaw would get bought out i assume which would save them some cash. I dont hate the deal. It doesnt really change that much i don't think. But what it does allow us to do is trade DJA while having adequate point guard cover. I think this would be our first move of a bigger picture

I'll be first in line for a Bobcats Jamison jersey.

Latest rumor has us sending DJA to Portland in exchange for Jamal Crawford. Not sure this move makes too much sense unless we are getting Jamal to mentor Kemba.

... can they throw in Gerald Wallace?

Money doesn't match in that deal. Include Diaw and Datum and it might ;)

I heard a pundit say earlier that as soon as teams mention Batum's name Portland basically hang up the phone. Apparantly he is untouchable and not available. Not my words, I am just the messenger!

Hey Swedd, how does the CLE deal you proposed save them any money? After putting it in the machine I'm showing a wash this year, then them being on the hook for an extra 6 million for Bad Porn vs. Sessions the following year?

Portland deal...I don't know what our motivation would be for that one. Crawford will opt out as he'll be going for a bigger contract and I doubt I'll want to pay him what he'll likely get on the open market. Wouldn't this be just like letting DJ walk for nothing?

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7kz7o8u

3 way:

Cha out: DJ/Boris/Bad Porn
Cha in: Sessions/Crawful/Jamison/POR 2nd

Cle out: Sessions/Jamison/Gibson
Cle in: Boris/Bad Porn/Thomas

Por out: Crawful/Thomas/2nd
Por in: DJ/Gibson

Including Gibson for Thomas just about makes it even in regards of in/out salary for Cleveland. Portland pays a somewhat more appropriate price for DJ.

Yes, Batum please. Not sure why we'd go after Crawford in this deal. I imagine that's who the Blazers want to send out. He's certainly a good player and I believe he's got a player option at $5 million next year. Not a terrible price, but I would rather put that money towards Batum.

I can tell you that the Cavs don't want a player in return for Sessions. They want a 1st round pick for him. Good luck getting that from us! If we can dump Tyrus or Spaghetti on them for Jamison I would be ecstatic! We could resign him for the Vet min in the offseason and he can really mentor our young players. His touch around the rim is something that few players possess. He is basically the Boris Diaw that wants to score and do all the little things.

Poorly worded on my phone during class.

A team like Cleveland might be adverse to losing such a big expiring contract in Jamison, especially when taking on another year of salary in Maggette. Diaw, while not due $15mil like Jamison, is still a pretty sizeable (lol) expiring deal. So they still "save" $9mil in cap space.

If we do get Jamison maybe we can trade Diop to Cavs after all Diop was drafted by the Cavs. As far Crawfordgo he is a better shooter then DJ. I think if we get Crawford we might not keep him and instead trade him to a team like Minn

It's about time that some of these rumors are starting to leak out. The deadline is upon us and it's been really quiet unless your name is Howard, Gasol or Rondo.

Take that deal all day. Start Crawford at the 2. I also want Jamison.

About Crawford: didn't we trade a similar player to Milwaukee on draft day? Our plan should remain the same: shed salary as soon as you can. For guys like Carroll and etc who have more years left, find a way to ship them out for expirings. For assets like Augustin, try to get as many picks as you can. Our only route to succeed the way they want to is to draft well.

No way the Blazers take DJ over Eric Bledsoe.

I hope they still find some appeal in taking on Diop, Carroll, or Maggs as their deals expire next year. It's our only hope.

I know what you mean. Bledoe's whopping averages of 2/1/1 really scream potential star to me too.

I'm not saying that's my opinion... I'm saying there's a lot of hype around Bledsoe. You know how the NBA goes Swedd. A guy can have a 2/1/1 avg, but to GMs, all that says is, this guy has potential. They feel thay know what they're getting in DJ and he is what he is. Whereas with Bledsoe, they feel like there is room to grow. Again, not my opinion, just what it feels like in things I've read regarding Bledsoe in particular.

Then compound that with them taking one of our shitty contracts versus Ryan Gomes... I think they'll go with potential.

I think that might've been the case last year, but even then when he was given the starter's job he wasn't doing that much with it. He might be a favorable player considering he's still on his rookie contract but I don't think many out there consider him a better player in the future than DJ

We gets Jamison and Diaw and Maggette goes to Cleveland. We get rid of 19 millions of salary and we get 15 millions. If we trade too DJ for Crawford...

Kemba/ ¿? (Higgins not, please)
Crawford/Hendo
Williams/Hendo
Jamison/DJW/Tyrus
Biz/Mullens

If that were the case I'd start Hendo at the 3 and have Williams first off the bench. A crawford/williams defensive wing would be atrocious. IMO

You're not the only one. *looks at avatar*

But even if they are "shopping" him, they are mainly waiting around for a great deal to come.

As for this Jamison trade, I like it if we off loaded Diaw and Maggs.
