Could this be the big announcement that guy on Carolina Huddle was talking about??

I doubt it being that it was based on a hold being placed on merchandise orders. That'll bother me for awhile considering the Bobcats deny any announcement is coming but we have that still in the back of our minds. I seriously wonder what it could be?
Aside from that rumor, I'm ecstatic to be getting rid of Diaw... I just wish it would've been a few days sooner so we could've picked up Hickson or Williams.

I saw the guys at Southpark yesterday. Diaw was slurping up a soda. It was Diop, Diaw, Eddie, and some other guy. I didn't see Biz.

Doesn't this deserve an "Official Diaw Is Not A Bobcat Anymore Celebration" Thread?

Hickson would be a good pickup. He can challenge our pf now and which to are the best can stay. I mean TT, White and Hick can battle it out, if Hickson is better than anyone then we don't have to resign White or we can amnesty TT. I wanted Terrance Williams as well as they can battle it out.

Well look at this. Who would have thought Diaw's pro career and Tebow's pro career would end on the same day??

Rick,
Coaches like Larry Brown and Mike D'Antoni cared more about Diaw's positives (skills, versatility, basketball IQ). Paul Silas emphasized his negative (nonchalant attitude).
Things came to a head this season; Boris' scoring went down a lot, he was never SO unmotivated.
I can't blame him: he knew that, no matter what he does, he's not in this team's future plans, and also, he knew (like all the other players) that the management cares about lottery odds, not about winning, this season.
Buying out his contract is best for both sides. Unlike those who posted some hateful comments, I wish Boris the best in his future NBA career.

From Bonnell's blog. Absolutely stellar post IMO. Whoever this lady is I find myself constantly agreeing with her.
I'd probably like HIckson over most if we could get him cheap.

Is Najera in our future plans? He still plays hard and gives full effort. There is no excuse to play like a soft bum just because your coach said you were a soft bum. A professional basketball player and a professional man should do what is required of him.
I can blame him. I can absolutely blame him.

I don't know. Hes getting up there in years and if we do end up getting Antawn Jamison, that's a better veteran PF then Najera.

Yeah, all players at the end of their prime most definitely would give their all on a total tank team. Sitting here watching blowout losses almost every night is a trial for me; I can't imagine a guy who's been used to winning enduring that for very long.
To each his own. Bottom line is Boris had the most skill of any player ever wearing a Bobcats' uniform...but ironically our "player coach" couldn't get shit out of him while the "dictator" could.

All I'm saying is that if Eddie could play hard (he does) then so should Boris. He's simply too talented to be a lazy bum. Even when he was playing "better" for LB, he still was playing well below his ability. I won't place the blame on any coach for his shortcomings. He's a grown ass man.

Exactly why nobody should be making excuses for Diaw or blaming his poor play on any coach.

Diaw has been in this league long enough to play like a grown ass man and a veteran player. I think he fell out of favor in Atlanta also. Even if he was not the go to guy, him being a veteran player he should have been the guy to at least mentor the younger players. So basically, he is a leech also, a talented player who does not really want to work to expand his potential. He sulked when G dub and S Jax left and now he wants to go to playoff team. I don't blame him but is he going to help win a championship or leech off the team to just get a ring. Even if he do contribute to a playoff team, so he basically has a switch that turns on his competitive spirit on and off. I am to believe he checked out way before the season started, say 2011 draft night when we traded S Jax, when it was determined we were in rebuilding mode.

We've had Boris now for what...3 or 4 years? It took about a month to figure out what he was. You really didn't expect Silas to change him did you? Add to that one who instead of appreciating his positives focused solely on his negatives...no one should be surprised on how this played out.
One will respond to one way vs the other (but not everyone will necessarily respond the same). Boris didn't take it well and thus the result.
You don't see the irony in this in regards to coaching? DJ is pretty much the exact opposite example.

As a professional, the expectation should be that you play hard and try and win, no matter the situation. However, it certainly sends a mixed signal when the organization trades away the bulk of the talent and signs a few cheap replacements with the clear intention of losing now to win later. In a perfect world, every player on the team would still play to their best. However, if you know that the team is being shaped to lose games in the short term, I imagine it would be hard to stay motivated.
Maybe they just need better motivation?
