Technical / Functional changes you would like to see in BCP

In between the end of the regular season and the draft in the Summer is when I usually do any big technical changes here on BCP, so I'm planning things out now. If there are any features that you've seen around on other forums or blogs that you think would work out well here, let me know about them in this thread.

One that I'm considering is adding the thanks system like they have at Carolina Huddle. this way we can thank individual posts. I think this would get a little more use than the reputation system. The layout. It gets tough to click the New Posts link at the top because the different buttons are mashed together on certain screens

I think the liking of the posts would be great but I think the dislike button would be bad if there was one. I think people would gang up on a post and that would make people feel picked on. I have mentioned before some sort of Bobcats trivia/quiz somewhere. I think the podcasts are great which I would help to run if needed. Would it be possible to get something which showed all the tweets about breaking nba news from Woj, Aldridge, Briam Mahoney, Steve Keyler etc. Also how about a Rick Bonnell Shrine due to his outstanding dedication and skill as a beat writer. Anyway if I have any more brain waves I will let you know!

In terms of the rep system, yeah it's not used much.
If you wanted that kind of system where you had a list of people who agreed with quality posts that showed up, sure that's fine. In terms of having a disagree function (like we do in rep), that also is viable, however there is always the chance of abuse. However generally the Planeteers are pretty solid chaps, so I don't see any sort of dislike rep system a problem, especially as I be rollin' and patrollin'. Only thing is that if we add in a dislike rep system, need to add comments on why you disliked it. Can't say 'Oh I disliked this post because TC is an Aussie; or TC goes for Duke so I disliked him(I actually do not go for UNC or Duke, or any american college), then we as Mods should remove it as it isn't justified. Just the same with how people disagree, I think the current system is fine however, if someone disagrees they quote the post, then explain their PoV and why the other person is wrong.

One thing that would be pretty cool would be weekly or even just every couple days have a poll? Bobcat related or even just general NBA polls?

if you can't dislike a post because of the OP's country of origin, religion, race or sexual preference than i am out. maybe a like, dislike and bigot option?

Is there a way we could get a BCP mobile app? Could be far fetched, but I would love an easy way to post from my iPhone.

There is tapatalk which I use sometimes. It's pretty good.

In the newest version of vbulletin (this forum's software) there is s mobile app that can be set up with it. I plan on setting that up if the pricing is reasonable.
