Last year, it was one of the Morris twins supposedly having a 6'7" wingspan, despite being a 6'9" big man prospect. As it turned out, they measured 6'10" to 6'10.75" in their wingspans. Not super, but acceptable.

A few years back, one site had Gerald Henderson with something like an 8'3.5" standing reach--more like point guard level. But we soon learned that he could reach 3 inches higher.

Now enter Cody Zeller. At 6'11", there is a figure floating around that his wingspan is a mere 6'8"! That would definitely give me some pause if I were a GM. That said, I can't buy this number. I gotta believe he goes at least 6'10"-6'11" when he spreads the arms. AT LEAST.

Are there ANY measurable sources to be trusted besides the pre-draft camp numbers?? Amare Skills Academy? Hoop Summit figures??

Basically, the annual day that draftexpress releases the pre-draft numbers is my grownup basketball fan version of Christmas. (Is it that way for you too, Swedd??)

For me, I don't trust any numbers outside of the DX combine list. As for Seller, I would be super surprised if he measured a wingspan any less than 7 feet.

The Zellers do not appear to have good length, but I think they AT LEAST have wingspans equal to their height. I believe that 6'8" will prove to be ridiculous as well.

There is some guy commenting on Rick Bonnell's blog that Anthony Davis stood eye to eye with 6'7" Clark Kellog in an interview, and so there is no way Davis is any taller than 6'7"-6'8". That's hard to believe because he looks every bit as tall as 6'10" when he plays. He's the easiest alley oop target I've ever seen.

But you know what? Even IF Davis measured 6'7", I'd take him in a heartbeat. Surely his reach is over 9 feet. The guy covers vertical and horizontal space as well as any big I've ever seen.

I would be interested to see if Biz has grown any more this season
