Take a roster in the process of being rebuilt, adjust the performance of multiple players downward due to injuries and underperformance and remove hope and this is what you get. To me, the lesson of the 2011-12 Charlotte Bobcats has less to do with the pain of getting worse to get better and more to do with how close many bad teams are to being truly inept. There but for grace goes everyone but the Bobcats.

I saw that and thought it was fair as well. (As opposed to Truehoop's belabored and now tiresome assault on tanking that almost seems like a covert operation to yell at the Bobcats once a day) It just gives straight, honest facts about what has happened and how it possibly could have been different.

The thing I saw Zach Lowe of SI tweet about this article was something that I agreed with wholeheartedly...that had not so many injures occurred and had just a little luck occurred, we'd be just run of the mill bad as opposed to what we are now. And no one would say a word about it.

Yep I think had a couple of things gone just a tweak differently we could have had 20 wins this year. But again... whats the point in that.

That was actually a little refreshing, in the sense that its clear that every other bad team is a few injuries and under achievers away from being as bad as we are.

You know what could be worse than our situation? A healthy team achieving at its maximum, and still only managing seven wins.

Its not like the guys who have been injured this season, is surprising. It's our fault trying to rely on guys who are soft, or just plain ole injury prone.
