I think this was the last 2K college hoops game. It is a shame 2K stopped making them.

With my memory card, I've given the stars their correct names, and tweaked the abilities of the great freshman from that year to more closely reflect their abilities.

I've also tweaked the settings to give it the most realistic feel that I can.

The talent is terrific:

Kevin Love and Russell Westbrook on the same UCLA team, along with Darren Collison and Mbah a Moute(sp?).

Michael Beasley and Bill Walker at Kansas State

OJ Mayo and Taj Gibson at USC

Eric Gordon and DJ White at Indiana

The Lopez brothers at Stanford

Ryan Anderson and Devon Hardin at California

DJ Augustin at Texas

Derrick Rose, Chris Douglas Roberts, and Joey Dorsey at Memphis

Mario Chalmers, Brandon Rush, and Darrell Arthur at Kansas

Ty Lawson, Wayne Ellington, and Tyler Hansbrough at UNC

Chase Budinger and Jared Bayless at Arizona

Blake Griffin at Oklahoma

James Harden at Arizona State

late edit: Stephen Curry at Davidson

Has there been a better collection of talent in college basketball during one season?? It's almost poetic that 2K got out after this one.....

Not to mention Stephen Curry at Davidson.
I picked it up for the 360 a few months ago and its a great game still, I've been spoiled though by the improvements made on 2k11 and 2k12 though. Really wish 2k would get back to making college hoops games.

Yes! Why did they stop? 2K basketball rules EA Sports basketball for the ps2. I know that much.

I forgot about Steph!

I had to tweak the Kevin Love guy's abilities a lot. They apparently didn't realize he was going to be a good 3-point shooter. Also, they shortchanged some of the Memphis players on outside shooting.

I'm too old to buy another game system. Just riding out ps2 to the end.

NBA 2K for ps2 hasn't changed much since 2K8. In 2K11 or so, they corrected Nowitzki's and Duncan's signature shooting forms to be a little less awkward and better-timed with the controls. That's about the only thing I've noticed. I didn't get 2K12 because of the lockout excluding rookies, etc.

The reason 2k stopped at 2k8 was because EA bought the exclusive rights for college basketball. Then of course, EA's team making those game grew to a level of incompetence so high they stopped making the games.

2k8 is a classic though. I have it for 360, and while it plays too outdated for my taste now, I spent many an hour playing it before.
