Something we need to see more of from Kemba

For some reason Kemba didnt get into the lane / paint near enough last year.

For a guy that can break / beat his man off the dribble at will he needs to be getting in the lane and either taking the shot if given or dish it off to his teammates when the help defense comes on every offensive possession.

Thats the thing, he will learn from "doing" and studying film. He def wont make the right decision everytime he drives the lane but hopefully he will learn. Honestly he shouldnt be trying to finish against 7fters. When they come to help he needs to dish the ball off to our bigs or guys open on the perimeter.

Hopefully the coaches and Kemba realize how important this is and we see more of it nxt season.

First priority- learn how to run an NBA Offense. The only part of running an NBA offense that I think he picked up quickly was the 2 for 1 possession near the end of quarters.... This was a free pass to jack up a shot quickly and he mastered that quickly.

Getting past your man and into the paint is an awesome quality for a point guard and Kemba does this as good as almody any guard in the league. To really take advantage of this Kemba needs to do the following:

A. After he beats his man, his first option should be identifying where the help defender is coming from and passing the ball to that player.
B. Work on a pull up jumper from the elbow.( Right now he beats his man and tries to drive all the way to the rim where he isn't strong/big enough to consistently finish among the trees.)
C. Work on a floater ( see reasoning for B.)

After that Kemba needs to work on his spot up 3 point shooting. In the NBA, the spot up 3 pointer is almost always open off of ball rotation or a pass out of a double team in the post.

Defensively, he's a pretty pesky defender. While I don't think we will ever confuse him for an all NBA defender, I like the effort he gives on that side of the floor.

Absolutely. Get guys who can spread the floor (i.e., can physically stand in the right spots to space the floor and are enough of a threat to make defenses honor them) and you'll see Kemba get in the lane and get things done, I'm sure.

I must be the only one who saw Kemba get to the rim, get fouled and the refs wouldn't call it most times...

Yeah Kemba got fouled alot but they didnt call it (my opinion from what i saw) Im a huge kemba fan and no doubt he improved his PG skills throughout the season especially towards the end of the season. Kemba needs to work on his spot up shooting like someone said earlier, idk what it is but he just isnt a consistent shooter. He's already got a nice pullup mid range game that translated from college he just needs to hit them more often, and hes got the speed and quickness and handles to beat nearly every pg off the dribble. Defensively he tries on defense, he doesnt make your basket easy he tries to annoy you the entire possession by swiping at the ball and what not. Kemba had a good year and did anyone else hear about how he bought himself and parents a house in Charlotte and he plans on working out here all summer long? Great to hear

I heard that during one of the last games from Steve/Co.

At different times Kemba looked very good and in most things I want in my PG. He just has to get it all together and within the speed of the NBA game. An offseason constantly working with a soon to be formed new coaching staff along with the other guys should help a lot. Has to work on the stamina. He seems smart, has a good work ethic and a pretty strong motor. He also has the swag. All nice tools to have if you want to succeed.

Exactly.I think with guys like kyrie irving this year and cam newton in football coming in and exploding so quick that people just tend to forget that most rookies are just normal rookies.The guy had no training camp,no veteran leadership(cause dj just checked out most of the year) and was playing 2 and 3 nights in a row with almost no practice once games started.Give the guy an offseason.Let us bring in a coach who actually coaches and add a few more players.Kemba should be a solid pro.But he needs time like most normal players.
