Or maybe because they're communicating primarily to a Los Angeles audience?

I figured that was a given. And Swedd..they could have put Bobcat player...I dont think anybody needs to be reminded that he use to play for the Clippers. Then again..the place I got it from half the people didn't realize he was even playing ball still.

Have you ever listened to the radio before? Thats how it works. It's why for some stupid reason Nate McMillian is a coaching candidate for us, because he played in the state. You want to associate the player with your area so that the listener tunes in. It's ESPN LA ... why wouldn't they associate him from his time with the Clippers? Mountain out a molehill much?

Well since it's ESPNLA, most of their viewers are likely going to be from the Los Angeles area. If they were to say "Bobcats player Maggette", they're going to be like "So?"

But since it's "Former Clipper", they're more willing to listen because that player has more insight and relation to the area/other LA team.

It's the whole "pandering to your viewers" thing

That would be it, along with only having 140 characters to work with. Might take up too much space to say "Current Bobcat, former Clipper Corey Magette..."

I really, really, really wouldn't even begin to put this in a category about the Bobcats' relevance. It's just the LA market serving the LA audience, no more, no less.
