I'm sure many of you received this through email.

Dear Robert,

As you may have heard by now, NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver announced tonight at the NBA Draft Lottery that the Bobcats will have the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. We are extremely excited about having the opportunity to add a quality player to our growing young nucleus.

I'd also like to say thank you to our General Manager Rich Cho and Vice Chairman Curtis Polk, who were our team's representatives in New York tonight.

Our basketball operations staff has already begun preparing for what we consider to be one of the most important offseasons in our team's history, and tonight's announcement makes this summer all the more significant. Our scouting staff has been hard at work to identify the best possible players for us to add to our team, not only through the draft but also through other avenues such as free agency and trades, as we proceed with molding this franchise into one that our fans can be proud of and that can compete at the top levels of the NBA.

We know that many people will be watching as we work toward the NBA Draft on June 28. We hope you will enjoy this exciting time with us.

On behalf of the entire Bobcats organization, thank you for your continued loyalty and support.

Sincerely,

Rod Higgins

President of Basketball Operations

Not a real Rod Higgins quote, Bobcat legal team.

I don't understand all of the hate towards our front office. It's not like MJ, Cho, and Higgins went into the lottery and forced us into the #2 pick. Hate towards Stern and Benson is a different story, however.

Patience.
Relax.

I didn't want a quality player, I think most of us wanted Anthony Davis. Rod Higgins has spoken first so he shall be on my metaphorical dartbord for a couple days.

However if we won the lottery Higgins would be a genius. So we are firing and hiring people on pure luck now?

I am very disappointed as well but I do not understand the Higgins hate at all.

This is what a person in his position does. He communicates. I truly appreciate the letter.

What would you have him do, go crawl in a corner and cry about it? Instead he says we are going to do the best we can with the option that we have been given.

Bitch about Stern, the NBA, or New Orleans...but don't bitch about one of the guys who are as hurt as we are by this whole thing.

Really we should not be too upset with Benson. He saved Stern's ass by taking the NO team from the league. But if Stern feels he owe Benson some sidebar compensation, then where is Jordan comp. He saved the league from an idiot owner in Bob Johnson after handing him the team. Jordan brought the team using some of his own money and has been taking shots at his rep ever since. And let's not bring up what he has done as a player. Where''s MJ reparations.

Im pretty sure Stern had everything to do with the Hornets getting the #1 pick. Its pretty obvious.

Saying that, we are still going to get a great player at #2. I wanted Davis, but MKG, Barnes, Beal, Robinson, etc...all have potential to become all stars for years to come.

I like MKG because he could do all the things Gerald Wallace did for us.
I like Beal because he can shoot lights out
I like Barnes bc I think hes going to average 20+ ppg and become an all star for years to come.
I like Robinson bc hes tough, can do it all for a PF, and is still getting better.

THe list adds on. Anthony Davis wasnt the only all star from this class. We just gotta be smart and scout the heck out of these guys from here until June 28.
