Rick Bonnell @rick_bonnell
I'll be joining Brett Jensen @wfnz at 10:10 to talk draft and #Bobcats
610 am or listen here: http://charlotte.cbslocal.com/show/on-the-beat-o-t-b-with-brett-jensen/
Just thought some of you might like to listen, I will sum it up if he says anything interesting.

Nothing groundbreaking; MKG is a great kid who hates to lose, Beal is small, but has the attitude you want, Drummond isn't as radioactive as he thought.
Also said when you're as bad as we are, you go BPA all the way, no position is safe.
I missed a little of it, but he didn't seem to give his pick, but did say if the Bobcats think Drummond is special, he makes sense since he's a center with great size.
If there was Robinson talk, it was short, and I missed it.
Combine is not like the NFL combine where players can dramatically change their value through performance.
30% chance we trade the pick.
After Bonnell left:
The guys in studio were talking Rudy Gay. They hate the idea, and say Memphis played better without him, and wants to dump him because of that.
In-studio guys also don't like MKG at #2. "You desperately need offense, and you're going to take a guy who does everything well.....except score?"

It's pretty amazing to me that everyone except our FO and beat reporter is trumping Robinson to be at #2. Maybe he's not on our board...but damn he has to be close?

Yeah it's pretty strange. Like I said, I missed a little of it, but I didn't hear him mentioned once. I'm pretty confident we have been in contact with him at this point. Maybe Cho wants to keep a low profile so other teams might panic to move up a few spots to get their guy. Time will tell.

it is a little fishy isnt it? Bonnell seems to hate the guy almost. His latest report had factual inaccuracies like he put in the minimal amount of time to find out about him. and today on this interview, he was very dismissive of him. Not like against him, but just like he didn't factor in to the picture, which is freaking crazy. Instead of self assured or chip on his shoulder, used words like pissed and brooding to describe his "check my stats" comments. Just seems weird.

"Odd that some of your posters think I "hate" Thomas Robinson. I've called him the safest option at No. 2"

I already had Fowler use a screen cap of mine for an online article he wrote earlier. Me and the guys at the observer are tight.

A snippet I read on Espn:
The question is will he be drafted at No. 2? We've had Michael Kidd-Gilchrist as the No. 2 pick for the past few weeks. Sources say the Bobcats still haven't decided and are seriously considering trading the No. 2 pick to get multiple picks back. However, Robinson is very seriously in the mix, and I'm told right now that Michael Jordan isn't sold on Kidd-Gilchrist.

Hey rick if you are reading this i just wanted to let you know that you suck big fat donkey balls! Since you can't write 3 bullshit fluff pieces a week about how boris diaw could be good if he wasn't a fat lazy turd, how about you actually go out and find some good info and do a better job instead of getting scooped by every other media outlet in the country about a team that's in your back yard.I don't read the sports section to hear about your mother and your vacations! Pull your tip of a penis looking head out of your ass and do the job your readers deserve! Deuces!

hey rick. i don't think your head looks like a penis tip at all. i understand that you need to be a little more cautious about publishing rumors before there is a fact to go on. occasionally, i am critical of your work, but hey it is better than reflecting on the state of my career.
here is a suggestion: why don't you do an investigative report on why the triangle and large parts of the viewing market can not watch the cats on all cable/satellite providers but yet the bobcats organization (who is struggling for fans and revenue) keeps maintaining that it is the responsibility of the FANS to fix it?
