I know it's not technically Bobcats related, but come on, it's Crash.
Gerald Wallace has told Nets officials that he will decline his $9.5 mil player option for next season and will become a free agent.
First of all, now that he has opted out, is it safe to say that this is one of the worst trades of all time? The Nets gave the Blazers the sixth pick for sixteen games worth of Wallace.
Secondly, would you take him back? Or, I guess the real question is, would he come back after we shipped him off?
What kind of contract would you give him at this point in his career?

The Nets GM should be fired!!!
He also gave up so much just for Daron Williams when he's just going to leave. They sucked for so many years and acquired alot of assets just to give them away.

I think the Nets have his Bird Rights so most likely he'll re-sign with them anyway.
No way he comes back here.

I'd much rather be a Bobcats fan then a Nets fan right now. Billy King has been destroying that team ever since they made the big mistake of hiring him. If I were Crash I'd take less money elsewhere and win a ring. Boston alongside Rondo, Bass, KG, and Pierce?

Or Dallas.
Possibly Deron Willaims
Carter or whoever they sign
Wallace
Dirk
Haywood
They are going to have a lot of cap space.

Why wouldn't Wallace come back to the Bobcats? I'm sure other teams want him but if this team made an offer I'd say he'd seriously think about it. I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want him back here.

And I didn't even know Wallace was traded to the Nets....I wouldn't resign either. Atleast our host city of Charlotte doesn't suck. Jersey is where Tupac, Elvis, Bigfoot, The Lochness monster and God live, Bin Laden was there but he went back home for a wedding and got shot. No one cares about New Jersey cuz no one goes there, no one gives a fuck about it, and no wants to fist pump or have their car stolen

Nice rant, but they'll be in Brooklyn next season.

Wallace wouldnt come back here. The type of player he is he relies on athleticism and quickness, he only has 2-3 years of that left in him at best. No offense, but Wallace wants to try and win something before his time is done and he wont win anything here in the short time. Also Wallace was our man and he loved it here but we could all see it hurt him when we traded him, he felt like he had been betrayed, i doubt he wants to come back

But Brooklyn is ballin'.
By all accounts, Gerald seemed very hurt about the way he was traded. I would be more than shocked if he returned. I don't think he's a good fit for us at this point anyway. I'd much rather see him sign with a team like the Bulls, becoming a complimentary piece for an immediate title contender.

Wallace to OKC to be Durants backup? If he wants to come back here we should sign him. He would be great coming of the bench backing up MKG
Unless he wants to come back for the veteran minimum, its not in our best interest to sign him. I love Wallace, one of my favorite players, but he is not a smart signing for us at the price he probably wants.
I am with Wolfpackbobcat, a likely spot for him is backing up Durant in OKC.

Lol GW would never ever be on the bench behind the rookie MKG if he came back here, get serious!

Crash is my favorite player by far. But hes probably staying in Brooklyn or going somewhere else besides here. That being said, he probably wont get 9 mill, but probably wants a longer deal. Id still take him for a few years. Aint happening tho.

We would be lucky to get Gerald Wallace back. He is a bonafide starting SF in the NBA... we currently do not have one on the roster. He is a defensive and rebounding phenom, and can get hot and go off offensively when he wants to. That said, he would probably not come back here because of how this organization SCREWED our best and most beloved player of all-time. Cue Mustachio for a crazy comment about how GW isn't good and he's overrated... GW belongs in Charlotte, and he could re-ignite this fanbase, along with a couple good draft picks.
