Because you don't support a team for who the coach is, especially without knowing much about the guy and what he brings to the table.

First reaction was the same as when we signed Dominick McGuire....Who the $%*# is Mike Dunlap?

Second Reaction: Has there ever been a college ASSISTANT named to an NBA head coaching job?

Third Reaction: What a gamble! If Dunlap fails, MJ continues his fame as a failed owner/GM/decision maker, but imagine in Dunlap turns this ship around and gets us going....man would be a genius

I'm not going to blow this out of proportion. I want to research this guy, I've read a paragraph about him and that is it, and that paragraph was that he's an excellent teacher and a mastermind with the X's and O's. He's our coach, and I'm going to support him until he gives me reason not to..

I went through the five stages of depression.

I was keeping score at a basketball team camp and saw it during halftime. I wanted to get up and leave immediately.

Now though? I feel okay. Its scary as hell because we just don't know much about this guy, but consider that last year the Warriors hired Mark Jackson, a man with far less coaching experience than Dunlap, a move that didn't even come close to the amount of criticism being placed here.

This move; its weird, its blindsiding, but we are the Bobcats, so what why should we be surprised.

I'm just thinking that he went into those meetings and blew them away... showing that he really wanted to be there, showed his desire, had a plan that sounded more cohesive. The man has 30 plus years of coaching experience. They researched a lot of individuals, put in a lot of work for their next coach(you gotta admit). Who was Phil Jackson before the Bulls hired him? Who was Greg Popivich before the Spurs? Hell, who was Scott Brooks and Spoelstra? But their currently in the finals. Shaw may have lacked something in the interviews, Snyder too. This man may be great...or maybe he will fail.. but he deserves a chance.

Then i saw the first quote in the article was form george karl and i was thinking "please tell me that just because karl is a carolina guy that mike didn't let himself be talked into this".And then i thought "well at least we can take a chance in the draft this year because it's looking pretty strong that we're getting nerlins noel or shabazz muhammed next year!".
