Samuel Dalembert and the 16th pick is apparently being shopped according to HoopsHype. His contract is 7 million for this year and a team option for next season. So should we explore this if true, we could package that and the 31st to move up higher if need be right?

It says there is already a deal in place. They would obviously want a player in return.

If it wouldn't cost us much, Id do that in a heart beat.

Don't think Dalembert is right for the direction we're trying to move in. At best it puts us in neutral but I even have doubts on that. Keep clearing space, move on to next years FA and if we can, sign a star or two or three. Whatever we can do.

He has a team option next year, so he wouldn't have to ever play for us if he is available. I just don't know who we would give them in return. Certainly not just our second round pick.

Yea, it said there was a deal in place, but it didn't state with who, and obviously they would want a player in return. He would give us a solid presence next year and we could not pick up the option for next season, he is no long term commitment so it would continue toward our goal IMO.

Who would they want though, Maggette? Williams? Mullens? Brown? None of them stand out to me as someone Houston would want.

What about the possibility of a sign and trade with DJ? He's a restricted FA and the Rockets are going to be in the market for a PG with Lowery possibly leaving. Would bring back a new big man to teach Bismack and add a solid mid-rd pick up for us.

We can't trade DJ while he's an RFA until July.

I don't know what the deal is with RFA trading, but the trade would make a lot of sence considering Dragic might not stay in Houston as well.

Id do the best trade / deal that brought us another 1st.
I dont want to get rid of our 31st pick though as one of Jenkins, Wroten, and Lamb will be available imo.

we cant trade DJ to July 10... Goran Dragic will not be leaving Housten, he wants to go back there as a starter and they will match any offer... I would love that deal, but if we were involved it would have to be a 3 teamer as theres no way Houston would want any of our players for Dalmbert and 16, but I could see us making this move for sure. It would be like the Bucks trade last year

Just playing devil's advocate. But how does anyone know for sure that the deal they have in place isn't with us? I mean we just got dunlap and this deal surfaced a few days ago.How do we know that our front office didn't pull this off to try to get him in a position to get harkless with our young core? I don't think that's what actually happened, but you never know!

It's just not likely that they want anyone on our roster. They just traded with Minnesota to acquire the 18th pick. The now have the 14th, 16th, and 18th picks to try and work out a trade for Dwight Howard.
EDIT: Just reading more about Houston, there are reports that they are working on a deal trade the 14th and 16th to the Kings for number 5. They're also looking to trade Kyle Lowry to get another top ten pick.

I'm just glad Diaw is gone. Next Maggy and Diop, I'm not really looking forward to adding Dalembert, He's at the end of his career having done nothing. This young team doesn't need that kinda vet leadership, especially only a years worth

Diaw gone: check
Maggs gone: check
I'm not sure there is a worse player in the league then Diop (not including the Bobcats roster).

Dalembert to Bucks, Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA (https://twitter.com/#%21/WojYahooNBA) Yes, Brockman's so good, they traded him twice. Sorry. Livingston, Brockman and Leurer and 12th pick to Houston for Dalembert and 14th pick.

Rockets now hold 12, 16, and 18. Wojo says they're not done.
