Don't forget to take draft position into account. Bismack was the seventh pick in the draft, Ibaka was the twenty-fourth.

That has little to do with anything really since we're comparing them to see what bismack could become as a player.

If you expect the seventh pick to produce more than the twenty-fourth, then it has a lot to do with the topic.

Not if the 24th pick exceeded expectations for him by those who passed him up.

Per game stats are fairly useless. You can use the advanced stats information from basketball-reference.com to get a much better idea of how they compare per possession, since teams play at different rates.
Shot Efficiency (TS%) - Ibaka, by a lot
Offensive Rebounds (OR%) - Ibaka
Defensive Rebounds (DR%) - even
Passing (AST%) - both suck
Shotblocking (BLK%) - Biyombo, by a smidge
Turnovers (TOV%) - Ibaka
Ibaka was significantly better in his rookie season.

having a dude who can score from anywhere and another dude who can get into the lane at will can do wonders for yah.
not to take anything away from ibaka, just something to think about.

If the statistical differences were narrower...

Kid is 19 and had an incredible block rate (second in the league, I believe) and pretty good rebounds. I'd be happy to pick him 7th again and think he will be a great player for the future.
Regardless of how he compares to Ibaka, with good coaching, he should be a fantastic interior defender for us for a long time.

They block shots and are from the Congo, beyond that I see very little similarities between their games.
Ibaka is a much more fluid athlete and his lateral quickness on the defensive end blows Smacs away, Ibaka also has a pretty decent jumpshot ( his form is nice), and can't shot free throws. I see Ibaka as a true #4
Smack I think will be a better back to the basket scorer than Ibaka and is a better on ball shot blocker ( blocking his mans shots) while almost every block I've seen from Ibaka comes from the weak side/ help position. Smack also is better at "showing" on the pick and roll and recovering to guard his man. Smack is an undersized 5 (with a great wingspan).
After Smack learns to box out and watch the flight of the ball to anticipate the rebound vs. React to where it bounces I think he will be a great rebounder.
To me the comparison should be this
Ibaka= young Antonio MyDyess with less offensive polish
Smack = Ben Wallace with less Rebound anticipation.

I think ibaka has a better feel to the game then bismack, besides blocks they dont compare to me

Keep in mind also that Ibaka has played the game a lot longer than Biyombo and played a season in Europe after he was drafted. His rookie season would be the equivalent of this coming season for Biyombo.
Again, though, I don't think we have to rate Biyombo in comparison to Ibaka. BB will be his own man and contribute very well for this team.

Just notice that according to draft measurements Bismack Biyombo is actually less than an inch shorter than dwight howard is without shoes on.
