For each of the following picks, explain what type of players we should try to get that are reasonable FA signings, trades, or lower draft picks. I'm looking for short term complimentary players, not the stars we will likely need to draft to make a run at at title.
Picks: Robinson, Beal, MKG, Barnes, Drummond
Example:
Robinson: We'll need one more rugged big with some height, the type of guy who can get some rebounds and effectively use his six fouls. Doesn't need to be an offensive force, but has to be able to run a bit. (As in, no Diop.) Also, need another wing scorer with an outside shot. Swingman is fine. Just needs to be good enough to keep defenses from collapsing in the center. Lastly, need another point guard who is more of a distributor that could occasionally play with Kemba, preferably someone who could provide a little veteran leadership while being comfortable as a bench player.
Obviously, some of these types will be the same no matter who we draft.

hate to do this to you (short reply to a long post). bpa regardless of position for the forseeable future unless a pick ends up being a superstar.

Whether we draft Barnes or Robinson, I want a pure pass-first point guard. I love Kemba, but offenses are ran and plays are made when you've got guys like Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, or Rajon Rondo (contrasting styles but i'd consider them all pass-first) running point. This is why I wanted Scott Machado. This kid would be a steal if you are looking for this type of guy. It makes it easier to play when you've got guys finding the open man at the right time and making the easy play all the time. We need this type of guy. As much as I HATE looking into future drafts, I say we really invest in drafting a pure point instead of trying to get an current one. That is my opinion though.

Regardless of the pick, we need a tall, passing point guard, a backup defensive big, and a wing with some range.

I'm talking about what do we get to make our team viable for now. Not big money signings. Just journeyman types.

If we're interested in going for a veteran that could play some minutes and be a great mentor I'd go Grant Hill. It's possible we could land him. He's also still contributing better than one would expect given his age.

I really doubt it. He will either stay in Phoenix or sign with a contender and try to get a ring.

He's rumored along with Jamison. I'm not saying he will. I'm saying its possible.

The rumor is that we would want him, not that he would be interested. With Jamison there is at least mutual interest.

I didn't say it was rumored that he wants to come here. I simply said it was rumored. Since we're interested in him and there's a good relationship with him and Jordan, that makes it a possibility. It may not be a strong possibility. But it is still possibility.

Jamison/Farmar and I would love Grant Hill also...but I doubt he'll come to Charlotte.

I would like to sign Gerald Green, especially if we go with Robinson.
