For the Bobcats to take Harrison Barnes at #2 and not make any deals related to that specific pick. I am prepared to eat massive amounts of crow if it doesn't happen but I think the Bobcats will let Washington and Cleveland sort their own shit out. Cho wasn't as smart as I thought he would be as far as securing other picks in this draft and I really think Barnes is the guy they take. Not a bad decision at all in my eyes. Working for more draft picks based on Brad Beal may be wearing thin though. I'm also drunk so you get to see my honesty. So who is the BPA? Beal and Barnes are guys that put up about the same numbers consistently, though Barnes puts up better numbers. If we go with Cho's system forget selecting Beal. MKG. Robinson. They take Barnes. MKG is the closest to the efficiency that Barnes put up, and even advances on him by .01%. Question is, is Kentucky's schedule and UNC's schedule comparable. Secondly, would UNC have beat them if they had Strickland, Marshall, and Henson at 100%. Let's not even bring McDonald into the question. All the shit that has been talked about Barnes is really just based on some inner discontent about his play style when he still managed to lead the team in scoring. No hand checks in the NBA will add to what he will do. He didn't fit into Roy's system kind of like everyone predicts he won't fit into the NBA system. I don't know who said it first, but kudos eventually, but Barnes will be a 16-24 ppg scorer at first. He could exceed that, but if he produces 24-30 ppg will you still continue to hate on him? And you know who this is addressed to. The same guys that should be wearing the lame ass shoes that Tom Sorenson bought at the Shoe Carnival that were expected to make him a better basketball analyst for the surrounding area of CLT.

It is not Cho's fault that he did not secure any picks YET. Draft is not over. Drafting Barnes would be as good but get more picks better. We are in a near no lose situation

I know what you mean, but I think he kind of fucked up with trading Maggette for Gordon. Just saying that that trade had nothing to do with our draft comes off as complete horseshit to me. Not to say we still wouldn't be able to get a good deal for our 2nd pick, but it's kind of watered down now. We don't need as much now unless the FO decides to make some major roster changes.

The trade has nothing to do with our draft. Ben Gordon's a two year player who may be gone after one year. His addition has no bearing on who we pick. We still need all of the talent we can get, as Gordon is certainly not a long term solution.

And there's no reason to make trades early at all unless you get a super, unbeatable deal. Cho is in the driver seat with the 2nd. The most important decision we make today will be what we do with that pick. We likely won't flip any other assets, save converting bad contracts to future draft picks, until we make a trade for the 2nd, which likel won't come until after we make the pick, and likely not before the team we're trading with picks for us.

I'm not disappointed at all. Cho is a business guy, not a magician. He has limited resources to acquire future picks. Even if we stand pat, we've got a nice player and all is well.

That trade was EVERYTHING to do with the 1st round draft pick and virtually nothing to do with the players (they had similar salaries and we took on an additional year of liability in exchange for a 1st round pick). We would've made the same move w/ virtually any other veteran on our roster if another team had a comparable salary coming back.

I will cry for days if we take Barnes at number 2, Robinson, MKG and Beal are all better players

Echo what DNB & BP said. Cho has been consistent so far in getting "win" trades so if one doesn't happen most likely we wouldn't have liked it either.

In regards to the Gordon trade...total win/win for us and all because of that pick.

So far as being "ready", I have no idea what we're going to do nor do I think anyone else does. I'm loving it too!

Why is it that BRnes and MKG are the only SFs in this draft? Just because we have a hole at the 3, doesn't mean that there aren't players like Harkless, Ross, Miller, White out there. We can very realistically nab a late lottery - late teen draft pick to fill that void. Plus, isn't Beasley a UFA? The Gordon trade was a win for us and,IMO, has no bearing on tonight's draft. If anything, it could come into play by us shipping out the '13 draft pick tonight to help Cho.

Which is why the Bobcats will take Harrison Barnes tonight. And if they trade down with Cleveland and get the fourth pick and the 24th, we might be able to see the full Jordan process in action.
This is what happens when we trade back for 4 and 24:

Jordan: All right, we just picked Barnes. Now we wait …
General Manager Rich Cho: Wait for what?
Jordan: We got so many options at 24, man. John Henson, Tyler Zeller, Kendall Marshall … I got my Big Board right here. [Waves cocktail napkin with the words “Fuck Dook” written in Sharpie.]
Cho: [Fashions a noose out of his necktie.]

I think the Bobcats would be stupid to trade earlier than 1 second after they go on the clock. As small a chance as it may be, (non existent chance even) you wait until Anthony Davis comes off the board.

i get the jokes and understand why the cats and jordan get the ridicule, but i feel the national media types do not even attempt to learn what is going on with the bobcats. not that they have to, we were the worst team in history last year, but still it should be their job to accurately report on the bobcats.

i can't wait for the day we are a championship contender and they have to print all the "jordan sure got better" articles and pretend to have known what we were doing all along. i think we should put a big "eff off" sticky post on the main page to all national media types when we get good and they come trolling around the bobcats fansites.

yeah I make jokes because I can but i really do believe in Cho and Jordon.... not so much Higgins

By all accounts it was Higgins who first wanted to hire Cho...most likely because he was so amazed at how Cho took him to the cleaners in the Crash trade. "Can't beat 'em? Join 'em!" is looking pretty good right now. He gets props for that anyway.

This crow tastes terrible! Trying to remain optimistic about our picks at least. MKG played on a stacked team so maybe he can flourish on a team that isn't so stacked. I don't know much about Taylor but hopefully he can be a guy that can be subbed in for MKG to knock down some big shots and get us 20-25 wins. At least we can get another high draft pick next year unless hell freezes over, pigs begin to fly, and Jordan comes out of retirement.

a lot more likely that mkg learns to shoot then barnes learns how to be tough, play great d and attack the basket.
