Okay, who's already excited about losing enough games to get this guy or Nerlens Noel??
I know I am!! Maybe Kemba, MKG, and Biyombo will get their broke-ass shots fixed just in time to perfectly gel with Shabazz or Nerlens in 2013-14 or 2014-15.....

I would kill to get either of these guys next year. Shabazz can flat out fill it up and Nerlens Noel could be as good if not better than Anthony Davis IMO. Damn excited, hopefully we get 1st next year but I could settle for 2nd as these two are like 1a and 1b. Anyone else and I'll be severely disappointed. As the Bobcats could see us being worst again and getting 4th pick next year. Sigh, but trying to be optimistic would love this!

Just for the sake of curiosity, I went to NBADraft.net to check out the top 10 for 2013. Shabazz's comparison used to be Kobe, now it's MKG...not that it means anything.
Lot's of size at the top of the draft next year.

perfect scenario would be for us to be able to cash in on both Det and Por picks and then trade up and get both Noel and Shabazz

I can't stand tanking, I expect us to have a bad season, but I'd rather fight for the playoffs and see improvement than purposely tank. We see how well it worked this season in not getting the number one pick. As it stands next years draft looks deep in PF/C. We'll have at least 2 first round picks and if that's the case we can hit center and PF. Or a big man and a PG or SG. Potentially we could have as many as 4 picks next year, I doubt we do and hope we don't as I'd rather they be spaced out, but it is possible, but we will have 2 first rounders at least in which we can get quality guys.
I hope our guys strive for as many wins as can be, I hate seeing my teams lose and unfortunately its been happening a lot lately as a Tampa Bay Bucs/Cleveland Indians/Charlotte Bobcats/Carolina Hurricanes fan. If any one of players feel tanking is the best thing to do they need their tails shipped out asap

I would freak if we could get either one.If we got muhammed,he and kidd-gilchrist could turn into the best set of wings in the nba over time. And if we got noel,he and biz would be one of the best sets of bigs.Either one of those guys could potentially put us in the championship contending realm in a few years if we develop what we already have and use our money wisely. But we're gonna have to get pick 1 or 2.No one is trading their pick if they can draft one of those 2!

Just to caution everyone a bit, let's not forget that neither of these guys have stepped foot on a college court yet. I hope they are both as good as advertised, but you never know what can happen. No matter what, I know we won't be intentionally tanking anything this season. This season is all about getting Kemba, MKG and Biz up to speed and improve their games as much as possible. At least to find out what they have and what they can do in the future. That alone will make it a fun season for me. No matter what, I feel we will be picking in the top 5 again which I think is a very good thing.

I'd rather have Noel because he's a 7 footer. But if Portland and Detroit both are 7 or 8 seeds, we could package those picks to move up and get both. Or get Shabazz and Cody Zeller. Who knows. We just need to tank again, root for the Blazers and Pistons to sneak in the playoffs, and pray we win the lottery.

I kind of see that as tanking, though. Because those guys currently aren't NBA starter material.

Thinking like this is setting yourself up for disappointment. Hell, us getting the #2 pick this year was lucky and we won 7 games! Plus, who's to say Shabazz and Nerlens will be the two best choices in 364 days? Just enjoy watching our dudes grow and gel and get this paraidgm shift under way.

Very true. I will screen cap the current 2013 mock, and save it. If I remember, I'll post it before the draft next year.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, perhaps we can put the various ones in a thread and keep it stickied throughout the year. I was going to wait until closer to the season starting though so they have more time to do a "preliminary mock"

I think Cho will be sure that this team doesn't win more games than it should. That's what OKC did - they didn't pick up any cheap free agents to help them win 5 more games over the course of the season. It doesn't help. The whole reason to watch this team at this point is to see the young guys that might be part of the future play (MKG, Bizmack, Walker). I would like to see them pick up a young point guard, maybe an undrafted free agent or DLeague guy so that they can move Augustin at the deadline if a good deal is out there.

I would rather have Cody Zeller than Nerlens Noel. Zeller is a much better offensive player than Noel. The 2013 draft class could have a lot of good bigs, I know its early but 4 players bigs are projected to go in top 10. If the Bobcats can get either Shabazz Muhammad, Cody Zeller, or Nerlens Noel the future will be very bright.

I dont think we tanked this past season. We were simply the worst team in the NBA. I'd prefer the team grow together, and win as many games as possible. Then leave it to the Ping Pong balls. Heck, we lost far more than New Orleans, and they jumped us. I'd like to see us show improvement and be in line for somewhere around the 5th-7th pick, and then have the Ping Pong balls fall for us and give us a Top 3 pick. The team with the worst record just never wins the Lottery, so I dont want that distinction again.

I think you're right, but it would be good to have a few things in place-- like another rugged big and a good passing pg-- just to help the guys stay healthy and learn to be productive. I'm hoping we get cheap, serviceable veterans that will help stabilize us while allowing us to play our young guys a lot and let them develop. That's a recipe less about losing on purpose and more about focusing on development than winning. In my mind, there is a difference.

I rather have either Noel Or zeller, because with shabazz we still dont have any big men going forward. Were probably going to be the worst team again but with more wins, for some reason i dont see stern letting us get the #1 pick next year since its gonna look like he owes us one which he does, i think were going to get top 3 though

Its stupid logic.. besides, how many teams with the worst NBA record actually get the #1 selection? Next years draft will be weak outside of the top 3. Its possible that we can miss all 3. Crazy..

Not excited at all about Noel, he looks kind of clumsy on the court to me and his offense is no where near Davis (who is not exactly an offensive machine). It is Shabazz, Cody Zeller or bust!

I think Austin Rivers and Drummond were looking like the 1/2 picks at this time last year lol.
Watch out for Jarnel Stokes out of Tennessee, dude is a beast. This guy is a 6'8'' 270 freshman with a size 20 shoe. He joined the team mid season after graduating high school mid year and averaged 10 pts and 7 rebounds in 25 minutes a game on 53% shooting. He will be one of the best players in college basketball next year.
not fat either just built like a brick shithouse

had to wear his own shoes the first couple games because UT didn't have any 20's laying around

I watched some UT games last year and came away pretty impressed with Stokes.
Definitely puts the raw in brawler
