How do/would you guys feel about taking a chance on some international players in the near future?
IMO, it would be great considering our current situation. International players, specifically big men, are much more skilled than players here. Due to the coaching there, they are forced to do the same things that the guards do, sometimes even play point guard just to know how to do everything. That's how guys like Dirk and Gasol are able to come in to the league and be as great as they are.
To be able to grab a big man, or any player for that matter, as skilled as some of them come would be absolutely amazing.
What are your thoughts? Do you guys know any specific International players that could come in to the league and make an impact for us?

I still want Alexey Shved :v

Alexey Shved might be the most suitable European guard to NBA basketball right now. He is big, fast, very athletic for a white guy and an improving outside shooter. I want him badly as well. But he will probably go to a contender because he is undrafted, and there are ideas that he will accept a three year 10 million type contract, which can be tendered by all teams. His CSKA teammate Andrey Vorontsevich is rumored to be headed to OKC, Shved can follow him there.

If we are looking some Gasol, Dirk type players, we should draft 'em. Considering the '91+ born European prospects, there is only one starlet who can really shake wherever he plays: '94 born Dario Saric, Extremely skilled big man from Croatia. http://www.eurohopes.com/player/1123/darijo-saric/ What Rubio was in junior championships 5-6 years ago, it's Saric now. You can remember him from Nike Hoop Summit 2012, where he had 13 points and 14 rebounds in 24 minutes.

He will be eligible for 2013 Draft and if he declares, I believe he will be a lock for mid-1st round (Spurs, Thunder etc. would never ever miss him if he drops late 1st). He needs experience though. Big man stats may be very misleading in junior categories because size matters much more than pro levels, but Saric is a real deal.

I've seen a little bit of Dario Saric. But I haven't heard of Alexey Shved. International Players are interesting prospects.

bing!

Saric is a solid, albeit turnover-prone, PG trapped in a 6-10 body. If I had to describe his on-court performance by using a single word, it'd have to be "goofy".

I'm waiting, as well as excited, to see how Teletovic is gonna fare in Brooklyn (most probably) this year.

I want Devon Van Strootum next year, he is uber athletic, long'ish and comes with good court vision.
