Who actually likes him as a PA announcer? I don't. He draws out players names too long. Not a fan of "T Time" or "Stack Jack" during the games. Its fine during intros. Maybe its time for a change.

I like Big Pat personally. He gets into the game and helps create a good energy you dont get with most other announcers. While he can overdo it, I don't think it ruins anything.

I don't really mind him. I kind of drown everything out anyway so I don't notice him

Jack is gone, though Big Pat does still do that when Tyrus makes a great play (he did it both times it happened this past season)

Pat's approach is dictated by the Game Operations leaders, he does other radio bits around Charlotte and doesn't interject the same approach, so your problem may not be with Pat, but the directive he's been given (his replacement would be instructed to do the same thing).

Also, as others have mentioned, he's a genuinely a nice person and goes out of his way to engage with the fans (members of the Bobcats TV presentation team-mostly past ones-would walk right past a fan without giving it another thought).

I don't really mind him either. He is the only PA guy I have known of I guess. It was so loud back in The Hive (and I was real young) I don't even remember hearing an announcer.
