In case you havn't heard we had the worst season in the history of the nba last season. Along this we have gotten an unimaginable amount of bad publicity from almost every single sports source known to man. However, before this publicity, no one who didn't closely the nba had no little to no idea that the bobcats even exist. With all this bad publicity though, eventually if/when we get better, now our name is better known and people will pay more attention to the Charlotte Bobcats. Now, with a bad reputation or not, at least people know the Charlotte Bobcats and one day when we are good, we will known with a good reputation.

I don't think it's a good thing to completely suck to have a reputation. Not something I like being known for, but maybe that's just me.
When we do become good, it doesn't change the fact that we we're historically the worst team ever.
EXAMPLE: LeBron was criticized for not having a ring, now he's got one, and he's criticized for only having one and it being "given" to him. (I don't respect LeBron for how he left Cleveland BTW)
Bottom line is, you should not be happy that we have a reputation as the worst team ever. That's absurd. You think a 20+ game losing streak is gonna get your games on national tv? All that does is give you the next Meme, joke, or laughable story on any sports show. Its not a good thing.

I agree to some extent. As they say "any news is good news"

Never. Sure you can say any type of publicity is good publicity, but think about it this way.
We just finished the worst season in NBA history. That'll be in the records, and people will quote it from here on in.
They'll be like 'remember 20 years ago when the Bobcats had the worst season ever?' Sure, we got recognition, but damn that sucks balls.
Those jokes will follow our team for the rest of its existence really, plus look at the FB group NBA memes. Sure we get recognised there also, but as a crap team.
It's not good at all.

I see what you're saying, and the losing streak will add to the story. However, I don't think you need all that. A lot of people still didn't know that OKC had a team until this year. Winning, especially going to the finals, is all you really need. Nobody really talks about OKC being terrible, they just talk about their young players.
At this point, losing is part of our history. I'm fine with that. I'm fine with bad draft picks and bad trades. It's all in the past now. We can focus on young talent and improving until we get a team that is highly competitive and sustainable. Once that happens, if people bring up the "worst team ever," I'll be happy to smile and nod and then turn back to the game while our team destroys other teams' souls.

I'm having "worst2first" tshirts printed. We start winning and god willing, win a championship.... no one will think about us as the worst season ever unless someone else gets close in the future (or quite possibly us chasing our own record next year). The sixers previously held that title, and it wasnt mentioned ever until we started chasing it. Do you remember them talking about the 1972 season when Iverson had them in the finals? Nope. Time and winning heal everything. For a more recent example, the Bobcats have more wins through thier first 8 years than Toronto and Vancouver/Memphis and the grizz are considered a decent franchise now and Toronto with Bosh were revered. Dcaw is correct this could make a great storyline in the future.
Also, Lebron is criticised for only having one ring because the douchebag got on a stage in front of millions (at an over the top rock concert-esque player intro no less) and told the world he'd win 9.

I hate to say it, but by having the worst season in NBA History a lot of people learned that we have a team. Any publicity is good publicity. It's one of the reasons I wanted Kemba on this team was because he can make plays that can get us on sportscenter top 10 lol
