Per K.C. Johnson: Bulls assistant Rick Brunson joining Mike Dunlap on #Bobcats coaching staff.

I know nothing about him, but nice to see the staff coming together.

From January to April 2007, Brunson worked as an assistant coach with the Denver Nuggets, focusing on player development. From 2007 to 2009, he was with the University of Virginia as the Cavaliers' director of basketball operations. In May 2009, Brunson was hired as assistant coach for the Hartford Hawks men's basketball team.[4] On September 9, 2010, Brunson was hired as an assistant coach for the Chicago Bulls.

I guess it's a Denver connection.

Y'all think we need a former NBA head coach as an assistant this year? Sorta like what Mo Cheeks does with OKC or what Bernie Bickerstaff does with Portland?

He is a former NBA player(not a very good one).. played for about 11 years for almost that amount of teams. Has decent relationships with players. Least he has been in a winning program for the past 2yrs..

Interesting to see such a young assistant coach, but the connection became clear when I looked at his Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Brunson):

" Not drafted by any NBA team in 1995, he played for the Adelaide 36ers[2] in Australia in 1995-96 for whom he was their season MVP,[3] and in the CBA next season."

That's the exact same time that Dunlap was coaching the 36ers to the playoffs. I'm curious to learn more about his coaching style and what he can perhaps bring to the table (guard/plays coach?).
