Could be a pretty good mentor to MKG too. I don't know much about his career is a player developer. Denver has had some pretty good development over the last few years though.

Link to Steve Reed's AP story on Augmon. Also a nugget on how Werdann & Lewis won't be retained, and that they're trying to keep young Silas on the staff.

I'd like to keep Baby Silas on staff, not sure he'll ever be head coaching ready, but he's a good developer and I think will be good for our young guys. If he's willing, hopefully he'll return. I honestly don't know too much about Augmon, but if they feel he is the best fit for an assistant coach then I'm going to trust and support Coach Dunlap, Cho, and company until I have a reason not too...

Plastic Man would be a great mentor to MKG defensively.

Seriously The Plastic Man is my Charles Oakley replacement? I liked him as a player so I will stay excited and see what happens next but we are hiring some off the radar random people

He played for the Hornets from 2001-04. Interesting...

Poor old Quinny....
Good thing he has a lot of hair, because of these numbers
34, 27, 25, 27, 37 (average high temps from Nov-Mar)
....and these numbers
27, 19, 16, 14, 25 (average low temps for the same months~basketball season).
Wasn't Grgurich one of his coaches at UNLV? Another connection there.
Wait until somebody hires Snyder next year...
"THE *INSERT NBA TEAM* HIRED AN ASSISTANT FROM A RUSSIAN BASKETBALL TEAM!!!! LMAO LOL ROFL I'M HILARIOUS!"

It's so true. Twitter has been slowly destroying my soul the last few weeks. I've been keeping a search tab for "bobcats," and 99% of it is RTs of really stupid Bobcat jokes.

Man I learned my lesson there. Twitter search of #Bobcats is a guaranteed rise in blood pressure. I get so pissed, but mostly because its not funny. If you're going to take the easy joke, at least make sure its funny.
I swore off two things, Twitter searches of Bobcats and Charlotte Observer comment sections. My life is infinitely better.

Unless things have changed - and I was more a Dynamo fan when I was there - CSKA Moscow is one of the oldest and most successful franchises (if you'd call it that) in the former Soviet Union and is probably on par w/ the elite basketball teams of Europe. And I doubt there's a dearth of cash which probably helps sooth the pain.
Plus, Moscow is a very interesting (enormous) city - one could find worse places to go coach/live for a couple years I'd think.

I gave up Observer comments a long time ago, thanks in part to Ziggy inviting me over her five years ago.
Following Bonnell and a handful of sports writers seems to get me most of the information I want. I'll probably drop the bobcats search.

Now, me being the modest sort, it's not like me to pat my back, but I nailed this one!

Nice job...now which year do we get out of the 1st round of the playoffs, and which year do we win our first NBA Championship?

Any news on Auggie? Y'all who do the tweets, if you would, could you fire off something to Bonnell and see if he has anything to report? Since we're in Vegas I thought something may have been done.

@Teamship It was Brunson and Silas in Vegas. Pretty sure they'll get a vet lead assistant. Don't know names.

I actually think if larry drew gets let go in atlanta after this season or next that quinn is a prime candidate to be the coach there. He and danny ferry are lifelong friends who played and roomed together at duke. He'll definitely get a look there!

Saw on Hoopshype where Augmon turned us down and is staying with the Rebels. I really would have liked him to be an asst with the Bobcats.

Oh, well, then screw you, Auggie! ;p No, I get it, being lead assistant at your alama mater has to be more of a dream job than an assitant for the Cats, but personally, I wanted him here.

Apparently we've added another assistant coach:
Jeff Goodman @GoodmanCBS
College to NBA trend continues. Now, per source, Penn asst & ex-Hartford head coach Dan Leibovitz to Charlotte Bobcats as player dev. coach.
Here is what Wiki says about him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Leibovitz
Evidently Don Chaney at Temple was very high on him, and he's continued to work with him since Chaney retired.

Looks like the bench is getting full. Per Bonnell...

Probably the bald guy . I forget his name but he was the one in charge of the summer league game when Dunlap was out
