Chris Broussard ‏@Chris_Broussard (https://twitter.com/#%21/Chris_Broussard) As @ESPNSteinLine (https://twitter.com/#%21/ESPNSteinLine) reporting, source says deal is done: Rockets trade Kyle Lowry to Raptors for protected first-round draft pick

Um, good deal IMO.

Maybe DJ will get his wish and end up in Houston....or Felton...not many FA PG's remaining (that have started significant games in the NBA).

Interesting that Houston dumps all their PGs.

I also thought Lowry had more value than a protected 1st rounder. He's on a great deal and he looked pretty darn good before he got sick.

It's actually protected for the Rockets.

Toronto will send a future first-round pick that source says "is conditional with high upside" for Houston. "Guaranteed lottery pick."

Never seen that before.

Pretty good protection for Houston...they get it if it's 3rd thru 14th, 2nd thru 14th & 1st thru 14th. If the Raps make the playoffs all 3 years then Houston doesn't get the pick.

There's a rumor they could be trading for Iggy too.

morey is so ahead of the curve. this is one example. the other great thing is they way they are intentionally messing with other teams caps. offering lin a back loaded deal, asik too. if the other team matches, it puts them in the cap and handcuffs them in year 3. if they don't, the rockets are okay with taking the player because they have plenty of capspace.

it's protected the other way. The pick has to be good, or houston takes it the first year that it's good

I know...you didn't quote my latest post.

What's the over/under of Toronto making the playoffs straight thru and not giving up the pick?

Honestly it's a surprise. They should have just taken the 3rd year's pick no matter what happens.
