That MKG is only 19 and was the youngest player in the draft. A lot of the guys he will be going up against have played in Europe or stayed at College for 4 years. I really wouldnt be surprised if Jeffrey Taylor outplayed MKG during summer league, he is a more rounded player who stayed at Vanderbilt for the entire 4 years. We must remember to be patient, even if MKG has a poor summer league and looks average, this kid is ultra young... Don't jump on his back if he does poorly in Summer League, we are going to have to wait this one out to see how successful he will be. So as I said before, I preach patience from my fellow Bobcats fans!

Fuck that he was a #2 pick and he's playing summer league ball. He needs to produce.

I agree. That's why I said he'll be fine. He's going to be the best athlete in the entire summer league. He's going to produce.

I for one believe he will play very poorly, and I am totally fine with that.

/end sarcasm

But really, I expect him to make mistakes. He hasn't played with these guys for very long, he's learning a new system (they all are), and he's going to have an adjustment period. That's what Summe League is for. Still, I also expect him to show the reasons he was drafted #2, which will make the mistakes easy to swallow.

Making excuses already, nice.

I actually fully expect him to ball out b/c SL is a glorified pick up game, tailor made for slashing wings and guards. If Dre Drummond can produce, Waterboy should have no problem.

Waterboy.

Are you serious right now?

You have seen people like Brooks and Burks drop donuts in summer league, does that mean they are a waste of space? I think you guys have forgotten that is a big jump from college to a mans game

Hey, remember when Anthony Randolph averaged 26.8 ppg and 8.5 rpg? Didn't that translate well. In fact, lets just look at all the top scorers from that year.

Sure Eric Gordon and Blake Griffin played well, but Adam Morrison also averaged more ppg than Griffin did. Marcus Williams led the league in assists. Joey Dorsey led in rebounds.

Summer league is for development and adjustment. Dominating the league does not guarantee your game will translate to the NBA. If MKG makes mistakes, it doesn't matter. If he plays well, it doesn't matter. What matters is that he is learning Dunlap's system, and getting familiar with the rest of the team. That is goal for everybody.

I'll be excited if MKG or Kemba or any of them play well, and I might have a moment of doubt if one of them struggles. However, I'm not going to read into their potential from these games once its over.
